It's only recently that you could legally start a microbrewery.. For decades, you couldn't. I predict the laws on growing will be in a state of flux for quite some time. I think illegal growers will do it more for financial reasons than quality, but there will still be some of that. Moonshine was usually of much lower quality than commercial liquor, but didn't have the huge write up due to the high taxes. I figure pot will be much the same.

By recently you mean in the last 25 years or so. There's been micro brewery's for a very long time.

There will always be boutique growers just like beer brewery's and winery's and the organic farmers market. All the commercial grows are about mass production and not quality. There will always be people willing to pay for the better quality.

You can get cheap shitty beer like coors and Heineken anywhere. If you want beer that tastes good and has a little more alcohol like lost coast and maudite. There's far less places that carry them. Those cost more and people still want them.
So true! Presently, I'm changing my ideas about organic growing. i have a ton to learn in order to change over from my present growing methods. My hope is to turn out quality organic herb that is a cut above comercial methods.

I think it's time we stop looking to government and legislation for permission to grow this plant. Licensing and permits are only used to track, charge, and exclude. I don't need some clown in a suit and tie to agree with me about this plant. This country I live in was originally about doing as you please as long as you're not hurting anyone else. That's how I'm rollin. Anyone who has a problem with it I have a nice sack they can lick.

You guys need to go back to school and do some more research and maybe get a degree in growing, because your figures are way off, and you won't be getting anywhere near what you think, even if you got $3,500 a pound which won't happen specially when selling in bulk and being there is so many people around selling DANK for low prices because everyone is under cutting everyone, you have to figure in all your costs, rent, heat/cooling, energy, lighting, supplies, your lucky to make $1,500 a pound after everything, and that's not even including the 50-60 hours a week you will be spending in the rooms trying to keep up with everything.. Not trying to hate but if your on here asking questions and stupid one's at that your not going to make milions lead alone thousands, you've got lots of more research to do in growing and prices and who would actually pay what when you yield and that's only if it's dank if your weed doesn't turn out very good you will be lucky to sell it to them or you will be getting hardly anything for it, you just have no clue how many things go into factoring our everything, it's not like putting seeds in the ground and coming back Six months later and saying Yahooooo! we got 10 pounds let's cut this down..

good advice mate, the price went down and that's the reason I pulled out, because everyone was under cutting everyone and the risk and reward was no longer worth it
