Carbonated water

Hey all I was wondering if anyone has used carbonated water in their plants. In the past I have used it on houseplants and they grew at an astonishing rate. With that in mind does the carbonated water add CO2? Thanks in advance for those that reply.

I tried with the co2 water thread I got made fun of:) ,its benefits are minimal, your better off with a gallon of distilled water + 2 cups sugar + 2 tablespoons of bakers yeast for a CO2 boost.Pour out a little water to make room for the sugar and dissolve the yeast in a little water before you add to sugar water.

I knew there was a recipe out there for co2. Thanks I will give that a try. Now with that recipe you place the container in the grow room right? I just started my second grow so I am still learning.

I would not water with carbonated water. The gas will displace air from the root zone, perhaps leading to trouble. cn

Sounds about right, i remember reading somewhere that plants don't absorb co2 through their roots but maybe I'm wrong.

Just so there is no misunderstandings................DO NOT water your plants with water, yeast and sugar combo, this is for co2 supplementation of your grow room.DO NOT water soil with co2 water,DO NOT use carbonated water in hydro reservoirs. You CAN folier feed with carbonated water...........and again for a minimal boost of co2 in your grow closet or small grow area:1 gallon of distilleds water +2 cups sugar+2 tablespoons of dry bakers yeast.........pour out a little water to make room for sugar, mix sugar and water..........dissolve yeast in 1/2 cup of water, then add to sugar water........make sure the gallon isn't full to the top, there has to be room for carbonation process(a little foaming action)...........poke a small hole in the cap for co2 gasses to escape...done,easy co2!GL.peace

Hey thanks all for the great advice. I believe I will make the water, sugar, and yeast mix. I will be sure not to water with it I promise . Seriously all thanks, without this forum I would not be able to grow any plants.
