Carbonated water/selzter water Co2 replacement/supplement

So The green man video showed him supplementing his CO2 tank by spraying his plants with what he calls "Bubble water". I assume he means carbonated water. A friend who grows tells me he sprays it only on the bottom of the leaves during light hours, as the plant can't take in CO2 at night and if you spray it on top it would burn the leaves. Several sources online contradict one another, to extremes that don't sound plausible, ie, Its the equivalent of spraying your plants with acid and will kill them instantly, and that it is better than a co2 tank.

Does anyone actually know the results of using seltzer water as a co2 supplement/replacement to a co2 tank.

do you know this? Or is this just opinion? There is a lot of information and misinformation on this topic, I'd rather have some facts that just some guy saying not to for no reason.

There's roughly 2 grams of CO2 in a can of pepsi. I'd say about 5-6 grams in a liter of Carbonated water. Unless there is direct absoprtion by foliar spraying it, which I doubt but cannot dismiss, quantities are too small. There's 12g in a CO2 cartridge for pellet guns and cost mush less than a liter of carbonated water. I have never heard of using CO2 cartridges for CO2 supplement in a garden though...

Thank you Xsample, I think you have given me the answer I was looking for. Very well thought out, thanks again.
You are welcome, just note that it is simply logic reasonning based on a single fact, the CO2 content of a soda bottle. I may be wrong as there might be more to it than I can percieve...

Well even if something vastly different is going on, say, the plants absorb 1000% more efficiently, or something as equally over the top, still, the base contents would seem to dictate little to no help given, so I would say your logic is sound.

At some grow stores they sell a mushroom in a bag that releases co2. It's about $30 in the U.S. and it last for a year. My grow room is in the garage an I was contemplating idoling the car for a couple of minutes. Yes I realize the danger to me, but I figure 2-5min of idoling could be enough co2 for a couple of days. I got a nice smog producing jeep or dodge truck. Get that real nasty polution so I can have a real nasty weed!

Kvnbeach do you know how much CO2 one of those buckets puts out in ppm? From what I understand idealy you want the area of the plant to be around 10000-20000 ppm if you are adding CO2, where a normal room is like 300

I never claimed to be a mad scientist, I was just helping you trouble solve. Did u see my girl. That's 1 plant under a 400whps, about 2 weeks away from harvest. This is my 1st plant and I have started my 2nd and 3rd plant. That one main cola in the picture is probaly gonna be about 7-10g. My plant is going to produce at least 2oz dry maybe more, I know it would have been more but a huge branch broke off from the wieght and that was a 2weeks ago. haha.

I have 2 grow rooms, one for vegging with a 250wmh. I built this one, it's drier(30%) but not warmer(65'-70'), it's also bigger 3'x4'x8'. My flowering room is a Growlab80(2'7"x2'7"x5'11"). It's somewhat humid(45%) and daytime temps are 73'. So far at my early growing stage, I dont even check my ph level, underground well. I live outside the Seattle city were we get our water from the ground, best water in the world. I dont use any co2 just Adv. I've been looking into carbonated water and I've come across contradicting information everywhere. One blog even said that it would raise the pH of the soil... carbonic acid... raise pH? I laughed, it just makes no sense. It will lower the pH but only very slightly. I've since seen this report but I can't back up how truthful it is http://spot.colorado.edu/~basey/ldanzell.html. It costs hardly anything anyway so I'm going to pour out as much as I need, leave it for 6hrs or so to get to room temp and loose as much of the fizz (without shaking it) and water them with it once a week when the soil is about 1/3 dry... before they flower anyway.
