OK so Its about time to replace my carbon scrubber, I'm looking for one, that I can cheaply replace many times over, the last one i bought, apperently doesn't sell replacements, and they want me to buy a whole new one including the entire fixture! so I'm looking for some cheaper options, or at least cheaper to replace once a year! but above all else I need it work and work well!

thank you!

I have a cheapo amazon one and it works fine. It was 50$ for a 6"×16" (I'm in a 2×4).

You can switch the flange on it to get use of both sides. I've talked to a few people who have the same one. One person has been using hers for almost 2 years now. Another person told me it was better than their phresh & black ops filters. The others have had no complaints.

I've only used it for one run. It was a 12 week run and I ran it 24/7. I was growing autos that were pungent as all. The Mexican Airlines I ran was so strong, every time I opened the tent, I almost threw up. The BlackBerry kush smelled fruity as all but was also very strong. I never noticed a smell in my house when I closed the tent up nor while it was open. I also smoked bud in the room where the tent is when I was in there. I'm still sleeping in the big bed. So it definitely worked well & for 50 bucks even if you get a year that's still chump change.

The box says it's good for 2 years & they use Australian virgin charcoal. I dont get caught up in the hooplah of what type of charcoal used. I liked the fact it was cheap, rated for two years and has a reversible flange. Hope this helps you out.

My fault for the edit. I realize I forgot to tell you the brand. It's a vivosun. Good luck & Happy Grows..

I appreciate the response, but honestly that kinda scares me, just bc I'm running a 5x5 and a 4x8, soon to be maxed out, and planning on expanding eventually, so going for the cheapest one that's available, just kinda worries me. smell is a major concern for me solely bc of the fact that I'm not legal! if I was, I really wouldn't be too concerned about a Lil bit of smell that happened to leak out, but with my situation that could be a major disaster!

They make different sizes and lots of people have used em with no complaints! Good luck in your search though.

I use 8" rhino pro filters in 4x8, I replace them every 18 month but that's just a precaution, have run one for over two years when I had access to the extraction end of the duct and it still worked perfect. I demote old filters to veg tent.

Phresh
Mountain air
Are also good.

Mines from foothill filters on ebay. They are refillable and work.
US made, small business
how easy is it to refill them? I thought about that, but at the same time, I need it to work, and if it's easily messed up or just makes a complete mess, is why I haven't jumped on them!

1st run with it, alittle more than a month into flower. It looks like just sheet metal screws holding the end cap on.
Shouldnt be hard to refill. They give you a little bag of extra in case there is any settling in shipping

What's your method? I have never tried it but always figured for home refilling sticking it on a washing machine would vibrate it down reasonable.

It looks like the carbon they use would settle pretty easy. Its fairly small and crushed carbon. Not like the pellets i used in diy filters in the past. If i can find the bag i'll take a pic

Looks like a very nice filter. I wish I would have come across it when I was in the market. It looks very well made and I like that you can refill it. How is the fan on it?

I've been using TerraBloom filters from the 'Zon without any problems. One thing you might consider doing if you are concerned about using an economy brand filter is using a larger filter than you normally would.

I'm gonna try some 6 inch filters from AC Infinity this year, they are new on the market and priced competitively. Like I said, no problems with TerraBloom but I use the AC Infinity fans (which are top notch and whisper quiet btw)and I love them so I thought I would give them the business.

Also, a 6x16 in a 2x4? Woah.

If this was reference to my 6x18, woah is right. Way overkill and on top of that it actually measures out at 8 around by 24 long. In my 2x2.5' tent i have lost much space. Keeps the smell down though. If i upsize it wont need to be replaced.
Yeah that's huge lol that's what she said
But no someone else upthread mentioned they are in a 2x4.
And hey that's cool, I'm not knockin it if it works.
Similar to you, I have a 2.5x5x7 with a 6x16 and during veg it's dialed down all the way, and it still sucks the sides in. During flower I run it halfway and I'm almost scared it could pop the seams on my tent. I couldn't imagine putting one in a 2x4 lol

It is cool, it's very cool. I dont think she said that though!

Why yes, Yes I do have a 6" vortex with a 6"×18" filter in a 2×4. My vortex is also hooked up to a veriac. I dont see any over kill about it! Works perfectly for me and I've never had any problems with my tent sucking in, not even once. Not one issue with the size of my fan, filter or tent!

If you're that worried about your seems busting get you some horizontal support poles. You could also diy some.. I'm assuming you have a T6. I'm sure you dont have it running non stop.. Its has a thermostat, Its probably sucking In because of too much static pressure from not running constantly. All that air being sucked out of the tent at once due to the thermostat turning it on and off will deffently make ya loose a few threads!

I'm being a bit facetious, I actually like a good negative pressure, hence the slightly oversized exhaust, which I can use for larger spaces later if needed.
It runs 24/7, it's just a bit oversized. If anything, I probably need to open my passive vents a bit.
