Carbon Qs

Newbie here, Been reading alot. Is it possible to just vent my exhaust outlet with a carbon filter, or do I have to do the intake side inside the cabinet. It is aprox 36"L x 36" H 24" W I have it already setup with the intake on the bottom with a 50CFM bathroom exhaust. and the Top is the exhaust with another 50CFM Exhaust fan. I was planning on just piping the exhaust out of the top into a filter. I need this not to smell like dank. Any help is appreciated. Thanks a ton.

Im also using a 175W MH I Have had the thing up and running so far to try out the heat issue, it seems to be nice and comfortable in there no heat issues.

Im not completely sure but I read in a forum here, that it is best to use the filter on the intake side. It went on to say that the smell would be filtered if on the exhaust side but the life of the carbon filter is shorten. I dont know by how much.....Hope this helps.

There is no good reason to filter the "incomming" air - the whole house already smells that way! The stink is picked up in the growing chamber - so yes, of course, you have to filter the exhaust vent.

It's ok to push the air threw your filter it works the same both way's. Like T.H.Cammo said,no need to filter the air going into your room. Try to push your exhaust into another room so you don't push all that hot air back into your grow room.. unless you have AC. Up here in the NW we don't have AC. Sucks got up to 103 yesterday. good luck. Peace
