carbon filter?

Ok im new at growing and me and my friend are planning on making a pc grow box with 3 fans 2 exhaust 1 intake, 8 flourescent bulbs and mylar reflex inside a old gutted out computer shell. I have my medical card but my parents dont know and i want to grow but i still live with my parents so this has to be stealthy and odorless. Im not quiet sure how to make a carbon filter thats small enough to filter the smell out of the exhaust fans because this computer grow box will be in my room and look like a normal computer tower thats hooked up to my tv. Please someone help and maybe give me tips on growing in a pc grow box or the design? Thanks!

Its totally disrespectful to grow pot in SOMEONE ELSES HOUSE without thier knowledge...when u grow up u can get yer own place and do what u want....!

It will be really hard to 100% mask the smell once in flower. Unless you start adding other fragrances to the room as well, which will raise flags though. Unless you're ok with a 50/50 chance of getting caught, I wouldn't go for it.

This is true ... You won't be able to eliminate 100% of the smells. 50/50 chance of getting caught sounds right to me. but whats life without risk.

JMO ... A little disrespect to ones parents is a virtuous and healthy thing.

ok any other sugjestions on where i should put the box than if im not going to beable to mask the smell 100%, im a newbie grower and havent learned everything yet i want to do a lot more research but what how long till the plant actually starts to smell really dank? and how long does a grow usually take start to finish?

It can be cut down to like 2.5 months I'm thinkin' that is the shortest amount of time.

If you got your card I can only assume your folks know you smoke so... Just say fuck it. Are they gonna trip if they find out? Put it under your bed or put your dirty clothes around it. It will stink and I might have never had a good batch but it isn't like OMMFG THIS SHIT REEKS ALL THE FUCKING TIME. I've got a large carbon filter but still when I'm in the box it's not even that stanky!

my parents would freak out, they know what pot smells like but theyre also 55 years old so they dont have the greatest sense of smell, but do you think i can succesfully grow without them thinking or assuming anything?

WTF are you talking about? I'm 64 and can smell a gnat fart upwind LOL.
By the way, if you have a card then this is the time to COMMUNICATE with your parents about the need to use this as a medication. If you are under 18 you would be banned so don't answer that LOL
If you are over 18 then talk about your aches and pains. The last thing to bring up is $$$, because you may cost them some $$$ in electricity. If it's one plant it's not going to cost a lot.

Not a great plan but I kinda did the same years ago.... I would add some Ona Pro gel for the odor to your room area as well.

I just bought a Holmes hap242uc air purifier for my grow room. I have a carbon filter in the grow tent but a little smell comes out. It is $40 at ebay. Add a little activated charcoal to the ridged hepa filter and you are good to go. Covers a 10x10' room. If you search here you can find a thread on it.

Northern Lights is less odor than most plants. Not a great plan to grow at the folks, but if you are super careful and lucky you can get a harvest. I guess a half oz.?

btw I am 55 and not all people of that age or older become feeble chumps that can be easily fooled or have diminished sense of smell or stuff like that. Plan accordingly.

You're living with your parents and you want to risk them flipping their shit over what? Half an oz or so?
That you're willing to risk 3 months of work and the risk of getting detected for maybe 100$-150$ worth of weed, seems stupid to me. Personally I don't think you'll be able to grow enough to even cover the money you put in building this. How long do you honestly think you will be able to grow pot in your parents house without them noticing? Saying that it is a 50/50 chance of getting caught seems almost unrealistic optimistic to me.

If you still want to do this, why not use the box to get your plants started, then put them outdoors?
Too late for that this year, but some extra months of research and preperation wouldn't hurt any first timer.
