Carbon filter sleeve replacement?

I have a 4" CF with a sleeve on in. Its pulling air. How often should I replace the sleeve? (Prefilter) I've heard if you replace the sleeve every 6 months it will prolong the life of your carbon filter

I have a bunch of 12x48 phat filters that have been running for 7+ years and I have never changed the prefilter. I just hit it with a shop vac a couple times a year to suck the dust out.

I just wash mine gets kind of funky looking with all the particles it’s sucking up never had an issue check if your exhaust out have same or is loosing pressure blowing out before you replace

Vivosun has replacement filter sleeves for carbon filters on Amazon.

Yes only 9 bucks.i don't mind replacing but if i can just wash them then hell yeah why waste $18 every couple months lol
