Carbon Filter Running In Reverse

Can a carbon filter run in reverse? It seems to me it would be perfectly fine other than you would not utilize the prefilter and carbon would deplete much faster. Its just air passing through carbon right?

My system is
air in>lights>ducting>fan>ducting>inline fan>ducting>carbon filter>air out

you can and i have seen people do exactly what your doing, but the inline fan is more efficient at pulling air than pushing it. you can move your filter to the front of your set up so that you will be scrubbing the air first.

its fine ive alway done it this way and have never had no problems with smell, like you say the air isnt prefiltered so add some stockings on the end of the duct in room to stop any crap going in pipe!

Thanks this is what i wanted to hear....the inline fan is pulling, it is at the very end of the system just behind carbon filter. maybe i am misunderstanding you. thanks for the response...

i use two and do both a long thin one inside a big dumpy one outside works fanfkntastic for me

i got a crazy setup i run 2 -250's eye hort and cmh plus the inside scrub into a 4 inch then outside is a a 33 can crazy getup but works fine a lot of stationary shit in top of my 39 inch scuare tent fosho two
lights and a scrubber takes uop about 1/4 of my space
