Is this the ONLY way you are supposed to use the carbon filters?

I was thinking of basically reversing this method. Because I want to have a flower tent and veg tent and want to exahst both up through the Attic and in the attic i want to secure a large carbon filter so the "dirty" air would be going through the INSIDE OUT . Get what i'm sayin?

Thank you all much. I did search for this and wasnt getting much luck

Yes that works.

I guess you mean you thought you might want to have a big carbon filter in the attic at the end of all the ducting so the exhaust air is actually exiting the carbon filter itself? That would be called "pushing" and it's not the best use of a carbon filter. It's best to pull air from a filter, and from the actual room the plants are in. But it would still work, just not efficiently.

Let me try to clarify, thanks for responding by the way!

So in that pic the air is being sucked thru that filter from the OUTSIDE, in and thru that ducting, thru the light and out of the tent to outside.

What i want to do is NOT have the carbon filter in the tent but actually have it at the END of the exauhst line. sot the air from in the tent would go up to my attic where i want o secure a big carbon filter, and blow thru the INDSIDE, out lol make any more sense sorry man im dusted lol

Ya... that what i was figuring, with the extra "filter" being the soft white one on the outside. Supposed to go thru that first... alright.

I really wanted to just use on larger filter for both tents to exauhst to.

So a fileter per tent you say?

"soft white one"???

Understand the single filter for two rooms. Just get one large carbon filter, large enough so the average cfm of the filter equals or is more than the two exhaust fans cfm's combined. You can push air through a filter, it's not recommended but that's meaningless. Just means less efficent and might shorten it's life. IDK. I've never pushed.
So, outside intake fan bringing in outside air through the open hoods of both rooms, then exhausting up in attic where filter is? Is there venting in attic? Do you already have heat issues? If so you may want to think about two filters, one for the two rooms and one for the lights themselves. It looks like your glass is on your hood. Don't you have actual room intakes and exhaust or just the lights?
Now I'm lost.

"Now I'm lost."

I feel ya, its hard for me to type what im thinking lol.

The soft whit one, lol that does sound stupid. I meant that white like blanket filter that slides over the outside of it :)

Yes there are roof vents up there in the roof, so it would vent out of that. Id rather it vent out there then have it go outside like window or somewhere on the side of the house. There isnt like a room up there or anything either.

Ya I might jsut try it. Cuz we gonna be working with one 5x5 for flower and like a 2 or 3x3 for veg and a rack for clones. Just not gonna have a hell of a lot of room for filters, reflector and bending ventalation. The 5x5, i will have enough room, obviously by that pic up there... jsut trying to make it more efficient... ironic that im trying to use the filter the "unefficient" way lol

This guy posted the same question in different areas. You'll risk ruining your filter by placing it in a hot/humid attic.
I did :-? no one was responding and im trying to line up some stuff to buy lol

Ya, that was gonna be one of my next questions... cuz im sure it will be hot as hell up there... humid MN summers

Note that pushing unfiltered air through your hoods will make them dirty relatively quickly, so you'll have to wipe the insides clean often as to not hinder the light.
