Carbon filter on cool tube?

I'm wondering if there is any real value to installing odor control on a cool tube exhaust. I mean, the air through a cool tube should be isolated from the grow space so it shouldn't smell, right?

Your right as long as the system is air tight. Air coming in from out of the room and exhausting out of the room. Good luck

Follow the diagram and you can't go wrong.

Cool tubes are airtight, they do not get any air from the grow room.

this is EXACTLY how my system wound up.
Now I just need to figure out how to "filter my light intake.

Filter?
As in stop dust?

Use some pantyhose, cover the intake hole with it and it won't restrict airflow very much at all, and it'll stop dust..

I personally dont use a filter i just use an ionic breezer, this setup here draws air in through the carbon filter, through the light, than out the tent through the ducting. My personal opinion is to have the carbon filter inside at the top so its drawing in all the hot air that gathers sucking it though the filter than out comes fresh air while cooling the light.

I was going to hook up a whisperline 110cfm rated fan on on side(in the top of my box) and have some carbon placed on the intake of the fan and it'd nice to have the exhaust of the fan then cooling my 600w hps and then out of my grow box, so that fan acts as odor control and also cooling my light. It was said that the carbon will amount for a 25% decrease in the cfm rating as it partially block the intake. Would the exhaust air flow from this fan be enough to cool my light?

(DID IT AGAIN) Heres what i was going to say in the original one-
Ill explain my set up with a text diagram

110cfm fan with carbon, then, sealed air-cooled hood with 600w hps in it, then, 2-3 foot duct blowing the air out of the box. what do you think?( Sorry for the 3 seperate messages)
