Carbon filter not getting rid of smells

I’ll bet the power of the fan is such that it’s pulling across the filter too slowly.

you’ll need to know your filters CFM rating and make sure you new fan if you buy one is rated just under it in CFM etc.
It’s an OX 4” carbon filter, can’t seem to find the CFM on it on the internet

this is the fan at the moment
I can’t find any information on the CFM rating for that model, but it’s probably too weak of a fan. It may be strong enough to move air through the filter, but probably not at a high enough CFM so be effective. I’d get a quality fan that will last and, if you can still smell the plants when the tent is closed, then the filter you have isn’t doing it’s job and is as bad as the fan it came with.

Problem solved, I bought a new filter and everything is running fine. No smell at all. I must’ve clogged the other one up when I had a really high humidity problem
