Not sure pc fans have enough power to pull air through any meaningful amount of carbon. Does it have top be a pc fan?

I saw something perfect like that in the DIY section today made from 2 pencil holders, pantyhose, carbon, and the almighty duct tape. Perfect setup for a micro grow at like $10. Looked great too.

Use this recipe, but substitute smaller materials. I would think that 2-3" PVC fittings and pipes would do good for your application. Go down to home depot and browse their materials. I'm sure they have the right parts for what you need.

Your computer fan should do fine for your space. I have a small, pussy 4" personal fan exhausting my 45 cu ft grow space, and there's no smell in my basement unless I open my growroom door or smoke some pot.

PC fans don't really have the pressure to use a carbon filter effectively. On top of that, DIY carbon filters don't really work even for 1 plant. They work to an extent but the whole room will still smell. Your best bet is to buy a can style fan and a carbon filter and just attach them inside the room where the grow is and keep that room's door closed. You can also seal the smell in by taking packing tape, folding it a little less than half way over so theres still a sticky part and sticking it over all the cracks of the door.

another one I just remembered, that I haven't tried, is taking a bucket, putting ona jell in it and drilling holes a few inches from the bottom. Then you buy an appropriate size round fan and set it on top blowing downwards.

They sell activated carbon in health food stores..(for reasons I dont really want to know)..just go in there looking like one of those self rightous no red meat types and streal a few bottles worth...as far as fans go see if you can snag a central blower to one of those large motorhomes that you find in the driveway of your nearest retirees.
