CAP ebb&Flow using the Lucas formula | Only 3 pots with 400 Watts

lol! the reason i asked about the formula, lucas has a few of them. i`m going to watch the grow to see how it comes out.

Fair enough SeedHo. What I am looking for in this grow is something easy, cheap, good buds and not a lot of work.

These plants are now 18 days old. The largest one is 8" high and 15" at the widest point. I have raised the nutes to 1250 and plan to keep them in that range.

The Blue Rhino is the largest plant, followed by the Bubba Kush.

They are really growing now, only 22 days of veg and they are already 13" tall and bushy. I am going to top them for 4 main colas very soon. I hate to do it since they look so nice but I know it will give me a much better yield.

ducky if you don`t mind could you show the topping technique or clear it up for me. i seen what happens when its been done but not how its done. i was looking through the "how to" yesterday and when they changed the website they i guess they lost the photos. i`am wanting to try it, i normally just cut the center grow sprout to even out my canopy's. to my understanding of it when you get to the 6-7th node you cut back down to the 4th node is that close to right?
another question, what kind of flood schedule are you on?

Ok, Done.. all topped to 4 main coloas. They look terrible. See the above picture for how they looked a few minutes ago.

I am not an expert but I have a good understanding of how to do Uncle Bens 4 cola top.

1. You wait until your plant is large enough to top. It should be large enough when you can count 6 or 7 total nodes.

2.You wack off most of the plant. You count UP from the bottom of the plant 2 nodes and make your cut directly over the 2nd one. Personally if my very bottom node looks stunted and weak I will trim it close to the main stem and I won't count it.

Yep, that's about all there is too it. Also, I have my flood schedule set to 4 times with lights on and 1 time at night. I was told I didn't need the night flood but it doesn't hurt.

i like t run mine after the lights are off just to keep the root moist, whether it helps or hurts i couldn`t say but it gives me peace of mind. but really what i was trying to ask is what is the fill/drain time on those buckets. my table takes 10mins fill and drain.

From what I have read the fill/drain time is not important. On my DIY table I used a digital timer set to stay on only 7 minutes because my big pump filled the table in less that 1 1/2 minutes. I somehow got the idea that letting the roots soak in water for 15 min would somehow hurt the plant so I wanted a quick soak and drain....not true at all. I haven't timed the buckets but I would guess 2-3 min fill and 2-3 min drain. I only have 3 3-gal pots though and I have a separate 1/2" hose going to each one. The timer is set for 15 min on.

no man i just wondering the time it took to do those buckets vs tables. i know that everyone that has done much with flood systems have their own strategy`s and such. sorry for the trouble trying to get my point across.

Ok, If you ask me anything else then I'll just grunt.. sorry for the long winded answer.

no i hated that you thought you had to do the long wind answer. i was kinda vague.sorry for that.

i either run `em 18/6 or a str8 24. the theory goes that the rest does help the their growing potential. i`ve found with the t5 i veg with now the plants seems to do much better with the 18/6. the 16/8 may have caused it, the plant thinking it wasn`t getting enough light that it was stretching out for more. then again some heavy sativa do best at 16/8 or so some breeders say. so that's the best input i have for that, lol it aint much.

They have been vegging now for 27 days. I topped them 4 days ago. Today the height is 15" for the largest plant and 11" for the smallest. I will probably veg them for another week, until they are 5 weeks old.
