Can't use H2O2 (?), alternatives?

I'm a Newbie in the middle of my first grow.

I'm using GH FloraNova Nutes but they are not compatable with H2O2 (so I've heard (read)). Must be organic or have organics in them. Probably so because the nutes look like loose watery mud instead of Kool-aid like some others.

I'm having a 'little' problem with gnats and fungus/mold around some roots.

I'm spraying persistently with a Neem oil solution and a fungicide/insecticide, even some Hot Shot aereisol lately.

I'm using the sprays just about everyday for the past 2 weeks, but still they keep showing up.

They really are not that bad YET, but I've heard they will overwhelm you if you don't do something.

Well I've tried 'something', maybe it is time for other somethings!

THANKS in advance!

gnats and mold can be controlled with conditions that are more dry. What medium do you use? Some people put sand or something that stays dry on top.

You may loose to the bad stuff, so you could switch to canna nutes and use H2O2 until the problems are under control and then go back to organic.

Edit...

The nutes came with the package but seem to be pretty reputable.
I'm not into organics, whatever makes it grow the best is ok with me.
The only problem is that just bought $40 worth!
I like the stuff, the weed grows great, but those damn gnats...

I'm using rockwool in hydoton in net baskits in a wick Rubber Maid system.
The wick system does great as far as growth and is less expensive than Ebb and Flow.
(Of course I am a non-qual-dink-puke-newbie, what the hell do i know)
ph is 5.8, ppm is 1500

Sand does not sound appealing, maybe I can cut out little covers for the pots and lid...

THANKS for the thought! Later,

can you pile enough hydron on top of the net pots that there is a layer of totally dry material. Or maybe put a layer of plastic on top of the hydron and then then more hydron. That would create the super dry top layer you need.

Once I had some unidentified bugs in a soil/coir pot and it was an important mother (Had to save that DNA). So I sprayed a bunch of pyrethrum bug spray in a gallon of water and watered the plant with that. All the bugs died and my plant is producing clones today. You could try that. But they will come back if the conditions are still good for them.
