Ive got a white widow that three weeks into flowering but she has not really shown much yet. My problem is that I my schedule really only allows me to check her during her darkness hours. If I turn on the lights for say 5 minutes during her 12 hours of darkness am I creating any problems? Other than my brief interuptions she is in total darkness.

any light disturbance during light periods will off set hormone levels and stress the plant. now why would you do that? i know we all love to stare at our plants all day. shit, i have urges to make my 15 min hike just to see my plants again just in case they grew while i was away for those 15 mins gettin back. see the point? just stupid. not just you and me but most of us i'd say but really try not to shine light when they are trying to sleep. unless you like 5 mins of loud ass thump music when you are supposed to be sleeping. but its just 5 mins. =)

alternatively, I've found through some light reading that green lights allow you to work in your garden without disturbing your buddy's light cycle. I hope that points you in the right direction! =-]

Why not adjust your lighting cycles to correspond with the time you can spend with your plant? Then you would be free to admire it all you please without fear of light leakage.

Good luck and good growing.

The marine in me says go get some night vision goggles from ebay.
The realist in me says get a green light bulb, preferably a low wattage one.
The optimist gardner in me says switch the light hours.
