Can't believe this happened to me.

I bought my girl some surprise tickets to see her favorite band in a nearby state. We got a babysitter, (first time ever, super nervous leaving her with someone else) and headed to the concert. We took a cooler of coors light and 3 fat joints. We got to the concert nice and early and everyone was walking around with drinks and tailgating. Me and my girl sat in our car and opened up a beer and were listening to music minding our own business when a shady man in plain clothes walked by. I noticed he had a walkie talkie in his cargo pocket and I thought to myself "What if that's a cop, maybe we should move," but I ignored the notion and soon came to regret it. Me and my girl are not quite of legal drinking age. About 2 minutes later I saw the same man escorting someone else in cuffs and knew it was time to move. I went to open the door when another man knelt down by my girls window and said he was with the state police and needed to see our id's. I had the joints in my pocket. He got me out of the car and left my girl in and asked me some questions and told me he was going to give me an underage possesion of alcohol ticket. He took the cooler out of the back and asked me to follow him to another truck parked nearby. When he turned I slipped the joints to my girl who was still in the car so she could hide them. Seconds later a second "undercover" officer went and got her out of the car. The officer that had approached our window wrote out our tickets and I thought we were done, but I noticed he was following us back to the car. He said he wanted to make sure we didn't have any more beer and ended up getting in more trouble. I said I had an open one in the front and gave it to him, as well as some caps and my girls beer. He still, uninvited of course, decided to go into my car and look around. My girl hadn't had time to put the joints in the glove box, so they were under a piece of paper in the seat. He saw them and brought them out of the car. "you got any more pot?" he asked me. My face was blank and I didn't really know what to say, so I just said no. He said "I'm just going to keep this and we won't worry about a ticket. That sound fair to you?" I wanted to punch him in his pig face but I knew I was actually catching a major break here, so I nodded my head, thanked him and went and enjoyed the show.

and this is why i get stoned out of my gore at home before i see a show =)

you're lucky they didn't go further and get you on intent for dwi... you said you were about to move with open containers? you had a real good break man, let it be a lesson and move on =)

damn man that sounds brutal. No med card? edibles are always my favorite when going to a concert or something like that. With underage drinking in public, you got to be discreet about it. For example drink something like vodka, pour it into a single water bottle and hide that bottle and a case full of normal waters.

can i ask what the concert was? lol i never had anything like happen, all the concerts i go to the cops just run everyone out of alleys and shit with the cars... DSO i think in like 2010 maybe? we were in the alley and i was just trippin my brains out on some killer cid.. and the cops come out of nowhere like almost runnin people over and shit kickin down nitrous tanks and all lol it was crazy trippin, but the way they did it was nuts, they had mad cops come and like round up all the hippies into the venue haha electric factory in phila

Terrible. Lawyer up. I was at a Tom Petty concert years ago and caught an underage and a simple possession. I lawyered up and ended with 2 disorderly conducts. $800 for the lawyer, $600 for the fines. Not losing your license... priceless.

id pay 1400 easy to keep my license.. seen tom petty in philly he was actually really good

He didn't mention losing his DL... so I wouldn't bother wasting the $$ to lawyer up; he's still going to have to pay fines regardless, why add to the debt with a lawyer?

and honestly, a lawyer did dick about my two duis, just added another $1,000 to my debt for the overall experience.

Sounds like you got a huge break. And they had probable cause to search your car. Not for buds, but they were looking for alcohol then found other illicit items....

Charge this one to the game and do it different next time

lotta states take your license for underage drinking.. im from PA back when i was a kid and retarded i lost my license for 3 months each time

then he really, really got off light; getting your DL taken isn't something you forget when describing an event like this

I was caught multiple times drinking and smoking (before I got my 215 card) by LAPD and LASD. Each time we got the same phrase: "we dont care if u guys are smoking pot or drinking, but you better tell us if you have any drugs or guns, cuz if we find out otherwise your going to jail".

So all those times you were "stopped" you don't think they put your name down in the police report for anything? you don't think any of those encounters would effect your application to the Police Force?

No. I have no Police record whatsoever. In big cities the cops have bigger fish to fry, they arent going to waste an hour of work on a fuckin minor with alcohol ticket. It happens, but rarely. The only time I ever got a ticket was for parking on the street during the wrong hours.
