Canopy space needed??

Growing in a dense forest, how much canopy space do you need to get enough sunlight 6-8 hours... These trees are avg height like 30 to 40 feet... How much canopy space do you need is 50 x 50 feet enough to get the sunlight for 6-8 hours ??

That's a tuff one to answer . You need to stand in your plot all day with a chain saw ( LOL ) and see where the sun moves and how the trees shade them. Throwing a sq footage of open area doesn't really take into all accounts.
