I lived in an area that ditch weed grew everywhere, my hope is that local pollen chuckers can over time turn it into dank.

From what I've read even the most dank bud will in time revert to feral cannabis.
Amateur breeders, and I count myself as one, often pick just the largest and fastest growing plants to breed with but it's often the oddballs and runts that can have some of the most desirable traits.
Decades of breeding for only high THC and yield has resulted in bland mongrel breeds that all seem the same to me. Paying 15 - $20 each for someones F1 pollen chucks is just f'n nuts. Once I have a few nice strains worked out I'm thinking $5 each for fem seeds. Hard at 'er as we speak. I belong to a couple of forums where it's all about breeding and sharing seeds so have way too many strains to ever grow out in what's left of my lifetime.
But I'll die trying!

It would spread but is fairly easy to eradicate compared to something like thistle that can grow back from bits of root left in the soil. That can't happen with pot in the wild as it will only only regrow from seed so if the young plants are killed with herbicides or pulled out before they can produce seed then there will be no more the next year.
There's a hell of a lot more invasive species to worry about in both the plant and animal kingdoms.

Let’s go toss a handful of regs in your yard.. then hook up a powered intake you your tent from a yard facing window & see if the pollen invades your tent.Answer: No it doesn't reproduce in the Wild and cause any invasive damage.
If so then prove there is any invasion.

Cannabis is a naturalized citizen. The real invasive species have 10 fingers. Short brown tattooed fingers that throw up central American gang signs.

I know of a spot in the countryside not too far from me where many many plants come up on the sides of the creeks. The locals say the original plants came from kids who would go out there to smoke and throw out the seeds. It's been growing there for a very long time.
LEOs went to destroy as many plants as they could. They were full of seeds, and they dropped seeds everywhere when they were dragging the plants out. Now, thousands of plants come up every year around the creeks in that area.

Cannabis is actually an immigrant to North America. There was no natural cannabis here ever until colonizers brought seed with them to grow hemp. Indigenous peoples used tobacco, and still do, as one of their sacraments.
Indigenous people here in Canada pretend it's part of their heritage and open lots of pot shops on their reserves that do not follow federal laws and are allowed to do that. Same with casinos. No archaeological examination of ancient middens has ever turned up a poker chip or discarded blackjack table.

That's interesting that the oddball randomness leads to the greatest desired phenotypes.
