Cannatonic CBD

I thought I’d try growing some high CBD flower for the 2019 Summer-Fall outdoor season here in SoCal. I researched and saw Cannatonic CBD posting insane 17% CBD/ 5% THC numbers, so bought 5 seeds from Nirvana. Just completed grow on September 25th, and with month+ cure, here’s my take:

I grew it and a Sour D (see review) in 10 g pots with FF soil and AN 3 part nutes. Sprouted seeds mid May. Plant was super healthy and responded to my topping and bending well. Trained both it and Sour D to have 20+ colas, and had great results. Final Cannatonic dry weight at 20 oz of huge buds from 1 5.5’ tall plant.

First of all, it is definitely more than 5% THC. Not super strong, but a couple of tokes produces a decent cerebral high, but it is fairly short lived. But when you come down you have a distinctly “chill” relaxed and clear mind. The real story is the extracts I’ve made. So far, I’ve made about 40 fl oz of olive oil or coconut mct oil infused at a rate of 3.5 grams per fluid oz (gotta love the huge yields allowing super potent extracts, cheaply). I made a pain balm by mixing the olive oil with beeswax and a Pain balm called Penetrex, and I am humbled and blown away by the response: diabetic nerve pain suffer buddy puts on feet in morning and reports 6 hours of pain relief; buddy who is long time CBD balm user said it was most potent and best he’d used; and more. Just incredible. And the tincture is really nice. 2-3 droppers full gives an amazingly chill and relaxed buzz. No edible anxiety reported by anyone; all report sleeping like babies!

I am really sold on this strain and it is so incredibly fulfilling to take this hobby we love and turn it into relief for those we love and care for.

Hey man, I just grew cannatonic for the first time and I love it as well. I got mine from the original breeders Resin Seeds. They advertised it as 1-1 around 7%. There’s a pheno that is like 20-1 THC though.

I’ve got a journal on here titled Cannatonic if you want to check it out. I was surprised with 100+ grams under a shitty blurple, especially 8 weeks from flip.

Will do. So amazing it is legal to grow here now. $8 seed. Less than $100 for pot, soil and nutes. 20 oz of bud- what is not to love:)

Cannatonic is the kind of strain you can do wake n bake and keep smoking all day and still not be couchlocked until late at night, where you sleep like you took sleep meds. I love strong weed like everyone, but you can love alcohol but who wants Bacardi 151 all the time? I,d love to know the stats, but results seem to indicate decent THC and high CBD...

That’s exactly how I feel! I can smoke all day on the weekends and feel great! No need for a nap at noon with this stuff lol. Did yours smell like orange peels while trimming ?

Yes, a funky citrus smell when wet, but an unusual smell cured. Kind of old school...earthy, skunky...smoke is dense and a big toke makes me cough my ass off. I’ve always been an Indica guy- GDP, Blueberry, Northern Light, Afghani-based strains, etc.-but I’m more into hybrids now, which most strains are today, in truth. Next summer, will try Critical CBD and see how it does...

BTW...I had to revise the label for the tincture because for ME ( a Snoop-level heavyweight) they would be about right, but 3+ is enough to get anyone pretty lifted, but not in a raging high THC extract way...
