Your spot on right Chris...we need to move...
Problem is to where.?...we are about to embark on a new path that's wrought with interest groups and their hatred of cannabis.......who are coming out of the wood work...like ants at a fire...

whether it be at a municipal level...with their inspectors working on having a "drone" eye in the sky....and planning to use them.... 4 plants you say....???? with fire and insurance barking at the door as well....

or at a provincial level...with the police and justice ....working at directly enforcing and directing ....all the cannabis business toward the government run monopoly, while working within a new larger set of restrictions and rules ...with the aim or filling up their departments coffers with fines, fees and what ever else they can shake loose....from those " pot smoking freaks"

then federally....probably the biggest kick in the teeth... of them all....as they embark on the raping of cannabis , OR ...of something that could have been a remarkable industry and probably could have set sector growth records....
but has been sewn.. shut ... ..by .an old boys club... of your former politicians, jailer's and heads of law enforcement ...
all thinking they have it made...in the shade...(definitely shady characters)

I think no matter which town city or province you are in....there are few respites of sanity....

Bravo! Well fucking said. In 10 or 20 years we may have this all figured out and some of us beatniks will be able to get by without bossy people telling us what to do....maybe.

Ontario police sound alarm over perceived lack of funds for impending marijuana legalization

TORONTO — Ontario’s chiefs of police are again sounding alarm bells about the impending legalization of recreational cannabis, saying federal funding for police operations may not go far enough to cover increased costs.

At a news conference held by the Ontario Association of Chiefs of Police in Toronto on Tuesday, Ontario Provincial PoliceChief Supt. Chuck Cox said it’s fair to assume based on other jurisdictions’ experiences that drug-impaired driving will go up once recreational pot is legal, and police will need to train more officers to detect drug impairment.

That, Cox said, can be costly.

Police have been one of the key holdups in legalizing recreational cannabis: the Liberals initially promised to legalize it by July, but now say the deadline will be pushed back by several weeks, in part to give police authorities time to prepare for the new law.

“Federal and provincial legislation has and is being developed that will act as a deterrent and provide police with the powers to properly investigate and arrest drug-impaired drivers,” Cox said.

“However, it is unclear how legalization will impact police from a day-to-day operations, including how it will impact, of course, police budget.”

He went on to say that while some officers are already trained in how to recognize drug impaired driving, forces may need more officers who are qualified drug recognition experts (DRE) and certified to perform standardized field sobriety tests (SFST).

He said to get trained in conducting SFSTs, officers have to take a five-day in-class course. Only 24 can take it at one time, and each class of 24 needs six instructors.

For DRE training, it’s a two-week course, during which time officers have to be away from the front line, he added. There’s also the option to send police to Jacksonville, Fla., where there’s a facility in which they can put their skills to the test with people under the influence of drugs in a controlled setting.

No such facility exists in Ontario at this point, Cox said, though it’s a possibility that’s being explored.

“The good news is that there is some money from the federal government that’s supposed to be flowing through the federal government that will go out to municipal and provincial police agencies,” he added.

In September 2017, the federal government pledged up to $161 million for training frontline officers how to recognize the signs of drug-impaired driving, building law enforcement capacity, providing access to devices that help with drug screening, bolstering research and raising public awareness about the dangers of driving high.

Of that money, $81 million is to be provided to the provinces over the next five years, specifically for law enforcement training and building up capacity.

At the same time, the feds committed $113.5 million to Public Safety Canada, the RCMP and the Canada Border Service Agency for cannabis-related enforcement.

“As of May 8, there are approximately 743 Drug Recognition Experts in Canada,” a spokesman for Public Safety Minister Ralph Goodale said in an email, adding that the RCMP and provincial partners are aiming to train 150 more each year for the next five years.

“As DRE certification sites expand across the country, that number may further increase,” he wrote.

Earlier this year, the provincial government committed to giving municipalities $40 million for marijuana law enforcement.

Maybe I'll get busted for smoking illicit weed at a pipeline protest!
I am going to be openly defiant with most of the laws. I will not change my driving or smoking habits...and I smoke or vape all day, every day no matter where I am. I will continue to push the envelope further and further until they snap! Every law needs civil disobedience to mold it into something that will gain public acceptance. Eventually the majority will come around to accepting cannabis as a normal part of society. It has been here for decades.
We have to remember that the idiots designing these laws are incompetent and very rarely succeed the first time in passing laws restricting rights, and automatically end up with the SCoC setting them straight. This will be in the courts for years and in the end come out looking a lot like alcohol regulations.

No wonder our high taxation is seriously out of control. When a gooberment can legalize a substance and then spend more then 3 hundred million $$$$$ on ramping up law enforcement to police it..... as Canadians we should all be scared....
Boogles my mind. Legalized...but will cost more to enforce....wtf. Only the maggot and his buddies could fuck things up this bad.
They are the only ones in history to loose money on cannabis...too funny.

TrueDope won a landslide majority based on the promise of Cannabis legalization in 2015. Finally, we thought someone seen the light (and he had the great hair). It will be hilarious if that same campaign promise of Cannabis Legalization (which turns out is just Cannabis Prohibition v2.0) finally comes to fruition as law in late 2018...and loses TrueDope the office next year, by the exact same people who voted him in!
