hard water has high mineral content, soft water has low mineral content.

Hard water washes soap/shampoo off a lot better than soft water, FYI.

Maybe I can explain why,

Hard water is water that has high mineral content. Soft water is conditioned water that is full of salt but no minerals.

You see hard water is treated by a water conditioner. Water is ran over resin beads that are charged with salt. The salt attracts the minerals and removes them from the water. Then the resin beads are rinsed with more salt water and re-charged.

The soft water contains a high amount of salt residue but without the minerals its more effective to use for cleaning and washing. Like when you bath in soft water. It feels like the soap doesnt wash off however it washes of right away and what you feel is natural body oils that would normally be blocked pours by the high mineral content. When you add detergent you only need half as much because half of the detergent is water softeners.

Not good for people or plants to consume. Thats why on most installations you get a r/o for drinking water or a cold water bypass to the sink.

Hey bugs, use the R/O

That way when you add nutrents you will be giving your plants the right amount.
ok ,thats what i use already wheew thats good.

the reason i ask is that some of my clones looked all messed up and i thought it was from the r o taking away micros nutes which i think it dose,so i'm going to start adding cal mag from advanced nutrients to help that out.
think i'm right?

Clones do require nutrients. actualy a good cloning gel and soulition like clonex really rocks. You use there soulition for a couple weeks. Then a touch of flower nutes in with the veg nutes the first week off colnex. Then all veg nutes at half strength.

Works for me 100% of the time.

Good luck

PS didnt mean to hijack your thread man

Oh yea, Cal Mag good stuff.
