I stopped smoking weed several years ago because I wanted to save my lungs.
I wanted to ingest it but I hated the taste of any food that was infused with thc........it literally make me gag.
So I decided to make canna caps so I could take like a pill and not have a nasty taste.
People have different ways of making their infused oils...........this is mine.
1. One ounce of bud.
2. 3/4 cup of coconut oil........refined or unrefined is good.
3. "00" Oil Capsules.
I start by grinding up my weed in a coffee grinder.........I don't grind to a powder...........just small bits, like I was going to roll a joint with it.
Next I spread the weed out on a cookie sheet lined with parchment paper.
I pre-heat my oven to 240f and decarb in the oven for 40 mins.
As my weed is decarbing.........I place an oven safe bowl with the coconut oil in the oven to melt the oil.........it stays solidified at room temperature.
I then mix the decarbed weed with the warm oil and place it in the oven at 200f for 2 hours........stirring about every 15 minutes or so.
Next I let it cool down and solidify.
I then place it in the oven for 2 more hours at 200f........stirring about every 15 minutes.
I separate the oil from the plant matter with a potato ricer........it provides great leverage and makes it simple to extract the oil.
I suggest using empty caplets that are made for oil.........the ones for dry stuff will disintegrate if oil is put in them.
A tray to hold the capsules while filling is a must.
Once you have filled the caps with the oil (using an eyedropper)..........place in the freezer just long enough for the oil to partially solidify.
This makes it less messy when you place the tops on the capsules.
Just don't let the caps sit in the freezer too long and get frozen or you will have difficulty getting the tops on them.
This makes about 120 canna caps........I take four a day and after about 3 hours, walking straight becomes a challenge.
This lasts me a month..........same as when I smoked it.
I store in the refrigerator.........they can be kept there indefinitely........unlike butter that will go bad.
But that's just me.
Have a nice day everyone.
