Canadian traveling to Amsterdam by my self

Hey everyone, so I don’t know if anyone has posted about this before so here we go…I am a Canadian vacationing here in Portugal. Now I have planned a trip to go to Amsterdam for 4 days and 3 nights. I am staying at this hotel called the bulldog in the red light district. Now I am travelling by myself. I was just wondering if anyone had any info on safety, things to do/avoid, or whether they have done this sort of thing before any feedback would be appreciated thanks

Good advice and if you use the search you'll find a couple dozen 'I'm going to/went to Amsterdam' threads. I'd check the most recent ones with regard to the changing laws with coffee ships for tourists. The hotels are expensive- I camped... Just don't drink too much or smoke a cigarette inside and you should be fine. The locals are friendly.

Actually, that makes sense considering their drug laws. But Amsterdam is still a beautiful city to visit.
