My cat spotty was going stir crazy so I cleared a place for him on the front porch to sit and watch things, figuring he'd stay there. I looked out and there was spotty walking on top of the snow like Jesus walked on water and off he went. He doesn't like to use his litterbox but had a piss in it yesterday that would put me to shame. He came back! Had the door cracked for him. He was not impressed with the weather!

Not much I could do to catch him with snow up to my neck. I was surprised at well the snow supported him and he was walking 8 feet off the ground. He stays close to home and mostly stays inside during winter, and I have him conditioned to sleep inside at night during the summer.

No snow. +7°C yesterday - saw a motorcycle out. Just a wee fire here today, burning some cedar trim. Permit allows for 9 square meters burn pile.

It's only around 0C, just on the line, we often get it as rain, but this one came in from the northeast and got chilled down before it hit. It's not cold, just lots of snow! Still waiting for the plow and the guy up the road with the snowblower who does my driveway for a few bucks, he is still digging out himself!

Well, I almost made it to the car shoveling the walkway. After retrieving a snow shovel off the back deck by reaching out the kitchen window. The snow shrunk down a bit and is heavy and wet but it was over 4 feet high and hard going. No plow down the street yet, but I did see a bulldozer going up the street with his blade up, a first for snow clearance! I would have thought they would punch a lane through by now.

Overnight I guess, less people cursing and shaking their fists at them if they plow at 3AM! That ten-foot-high snowbank will greet people first thing in the morning before work, glad I'm retired.

The plow was down the street this afternoon. A big cat payloader, he took a series of 100 foot runs and got about 30 feet before having to repeat it! I got a path cleared to the road by shoveling and my buddy came over and did a few feet then my snow blower guy showed up and tackled the snowbank.

It might be a while before the car is out though, even parked at the top of the driveway there is 10 or 12 feet of snow 5 feet deep wet snow and a snowbank between me and driving to civilization! I have a hole to poke my nose out onto the road, until the plow comes by again at least.

We're getting there, but there should have been a convoy of plows from the HRM here by now, thanks Tories, it's all an act I guess, or so the premier says.

Would it be de trop to suggest you harness your considerable supply of hot air for deployment on the obstacle? ;)
