Hello there Jeff, there was a woman in NS who took the NS version of ODSP to court and won, now the NS Gov't has to pay for her Cannabis. It only works for the Gov't supplied stuff from Prarie Plant Systems, but you should look into it, find the court documents (should be online somewhere), and then ask ODSP to cover yours and cite that court ruling. If it doesn't scare them into doing it, you might be able to get a public defender who will help you take them to court over it.

If you get your license to grow you can but you are limited to the number of plants you can grow based on how many grams your doctor prescribes. 3g = 15 plants, 5g = 25 plants
I have 5g and allowed 25 plants total, clone, veg and flower. I can carry up to 150g on me at any time and have 1125g dried at my place of production. It takes 8 to 10 weeks to get your license.

I've been really considering getting my license before I start my new grow. I'm based in the maritimes. I have a strong educational and science background with no criminal record. I've reviewed all of the applicaitons online and I have a great area to grow in. The only problem I have is that I do not have a patient to provide for. If I fill out the applications will they provide me with a patient if I am successful in the process? Also, what are the chances that I would be able to get a license for production if I am using a rental property? Thanks for the help in advance

You must get the landlord to agree to growing if you don't own the property. HC has the paperwork on their site for that.
HC will not hook u up with a MMP.

So If I haven't been able to find my own patient then there is no point in pursuing this then? I think if I was able to become legal then I could get my landlord to sign the papers to allow me to grow.

a lot of the info you need is here, or can be linked to from here. you need to find yourself a patient (or become one), and they need to get themselves a doctor's signature and daily recommended amount (which will determine your plant allowance). then, you either need a place of your own OR consent from a landlord. (all the forms are at the above link too). and then you wait.
