Canadian DIY COB Questions and Material List Request.

Hey, I'm a fellow Canadian

And I've got a project in mind

I'd like to go twelve strips but only two feet wide as I only grow with 2x4 tables to ease of access I have a terrible back.

Here's my current journal, scroll to the bottom up the latest pics

But basically it seems youve done the legwork on this led strip diy in canada. Sourcing in canada isn't easy.

So I'd love a little input on my build if you don't mind.

I'm just confused on how big of a driver IL need for 6 two ft strips of each color.

Also do you think this will be enough for flower

Sorry its eight of the 3000k and eight o f the 5000k

Sorry for the mixup. I wanted a good mix of colors in the mh and hps spectrum

3000k =good
3500 k = good .
.both = good

adding 5000k to either. = dunno.

maybe try it and get back to us..
if we do not experiment we cannot learn

Those the single strips ? What kind of watts and PPFD looking for in build ?

I'm looking to make a flower light for a 2x4 table I figured a mix of 3000k/5000k,
It's my fistbuild

Two hlg 240h 24a drivers

Yeah for those EB you are going to want to go to the max current 1400mA, well thats what I did and just dim them to more efficient levels as needed (like in veg). You dont have to do this, but I found it super convenient in my build. Vegging under 5700's right now, just fine, really like the internodal length actually, I thought 5700K might be too high, but so far so great. I have 6 560mm strips in 5700 and 6 in 3000 (would have gone down to 2700 if they made em), 6 strips runs on a HLG-185H-1400B. So 6 strips per driver in my case. Not sure how you will drive 8, but I would say you want the head room of max drive current and you want a dimmable constant current driver.

@ everyone
Is there a reason these days for a CV/CC driver in the grow light space?

Hey dude sorry i've been quiet on the forums lately, had to put a pause on all this for a short time.

In terms of drivers and strips you should defnitely check out

http://ledgardener.com/parallel-strip-build-tool/

Theres different calculators and the guy that owns the forum is super helpful.

Hope that helps :)
