Canada's new medical marijuana policy?

Hello there everyone. Hope Canada Day was fun for you all. :lol:
Ive been out of the loop for a while and was hoping someone could fill me in. Are we losing are right to grow our own marijuana. Who is gonna supply it to us and when does this take effect. I refuse to use that shit health Canada supplies. Harper is going to far with this especially now with his minimum sentences for pot plants.

No more personal growing or DG's, there will be commercial growers supplying the goverment for distribution.The changes will come into effect 2014.

All thou this is true i think after another few court battles again it will be reinstated as they have tried this road before and it did not work then so i dont know why they think it will now and what they put out last time ppl will think its the same and not want to buy it much less pay what it will cost also those on low incomes will not be able to afford it i got 12 gr a day RX so at prices now from government i would pay almost 900 before taxes likely well over after and postage man i bet a 1000 bucks so really it would cost me close to 2k for i months supply so u think i will stop come get me when i prove u did it wrong again then we will go around again here in BC

I'm with you Sir Tokes. I have no intention of not growing my own medicine the alternatives are too expensive. I have a lot to risk but I'm pretty sure a judge in BC is not going to put a father of 2 that suffers from MS in Jail.

Ya and not to mention the crap about minimun jail sentences for anything over five plant. I really feel sorry for all the patents that are going to get hurt over this new legislation. Sad how we are moving backwards after being on the forefront of Medical M for so many years.

Just like gun registry, this will not solve anything

Damn, and just when I was looking to become a designated grower, and make a few extra bucks myself. I had hoped to give my patients an ounce a month gratis, plus $200 an oz after that (based on their prescription, of course). Somehow I think commercial growers will charge more... Way to stop small business, *and* violate our basic human rights at the same time, big brother!

actually the inquiry into the changes will start in 2014 but it is expected to take 2-3 yrs to complete and then the legal challenges begin.
the real fear is all this talk about inspections and the RCMP taking over from Health Canada.

I personally like the green parties economic platform but the NDP are the only real choice and have been HERB freindly since the 70's"(yes I am that old)
when Lorne Nystrom was entering private members bills for legalisation but PET wouldn't pass them
; but he smoked pot while is wife smoked Keith Richard's pole.

Can someone else confirm that the changes are not scheduled to start in 2014? For some reason thats how I have been understanding it.
