Can you use a 300watt LED to Germinate

Just wondering if using a 300watt Mars Hydro LED will be suitable for Germination, and a small VEG Process before they go into 1200watt LEDS, in main room?

I know alot of people like CFL in Germination and VEG, but buying Lights and CFL plugs/holders cost abit in my county.
CFL - $30.00 Each ($120.00 for 4)
Holders/Plugs - $25.00 Each. ($100 for 4)

When i can get 300watt Mars Hydro for $100-120.

Recommendations?

know someone that grows with 5 mars hydro 300w (really like 127w) and flowers his buds look pretty nice. Only problem with blurples in general is the node spacing. I recomend COBS like the ones from timber grow lights http://timbergrowlights.com/ or cutter electronics http://www.cutter.com.au/products.php?cat=MAU5+Cree for your final light. Can find COBS elswhere also just make sure the chips are top bin!

Can get a 2' T5 for about $40 https://www.amazon.com/2-Plant-Grow...636171&sr=8-1&keywords=ferry+morse+grow+light that would be better than the Mars hydro for seedlings don't need light to germinate. Don't get me wrong I have and use a Mars Hydro 300w but it's at the low end quality wise. Look below for what a Mars Hydro 300w will do to your plants lol 5 nodes in about 3" burn is from spraying azamax on it in one of my freak out moments...IMG_3964.JPG IMG_3963.JPG

Do you mean seedlings? if so 1 Mars Hydro 300w has about a 1'x1' footprint it seems so you could probably put about 9 seedlings under one

Alternative...$65 for 3 t5 full spectrum and let them pay for themselves through energy savings and veg a 7 x 7 foot space with 12 ft heat coverage laid inline or rows. 129 watts running all 3.

I used my p300 from seedling to harvest. Just make sure you don't keep the light too close to the babies or they will get burnt. I just made sure the seedlings stayed at least 36" away and had no problems. The led Lazer beams are a bit too much for the little ones. I slowly start to lower the light as they get bigger and by the time I have two nodes with great growth the light is about 18 to 20" away.

Thanks for the awesome responses, Yeah sorry i meant seedlings.

I think i have decided to go with a 300watt LED Light that has a VEG and Bloom Switch similar to this one.

That way I can just have it on VEG mode and the LED's wont be too powerful as to burn the plant. I think ill add 2 x 130watt CFL into my first room for seedlings/small veg cycle aswell.

Once the plant has reached flowering stage in my second room under my 1200watt LED's i can always just use the bloom switch on the 300watt LED to increase the red spectrum for better flowers!

That should be perfect!
What do you guys think?
