Yeah you could, and it should work rather well, though it would be a pain in the ass to mount and take up a fair amount of space XD

so you have a 1000watt light. hps. in what seize area and how many plants are you doing also youre distance and temps at conapy. i know the theory about more light the better. well more even spread light the better....but somtimes there better options than just chucking more light in there

I'm guessing your closet is huge. It can't hurt to add extra lighting, but I believe that hanging mylar would be just as effective and wouldn't add to your electric bill.

First crop in 37 years! this time everything is different...indoors...strains.....all of you have learned sooo much it's like i'm 15 again! I have learned a lot here just being a lurker!! My goals are to have an adaquate supply of conisour weed to keep me saine (or close) my wife has hasimoto's encephilitis and i'm home 24/7 she is in terrible condition but it is what it is. Good to hear froom stoners like my self!! and ideas or coments really welcome Thanks jack

Everything good towards you and your wife.

You seem to have a pretty nice setup as it is. Look at all that equipment ! sweet.
Maybe take some clones and use the ufo for them? I´ve had a 90 diode 1w ufo and its been an extremely great veglight.

Ufo is 2008-2009? It has 80 630nm and 10 460nm leds in it. It uses 60 watts power in total. I´ve been pretty happy with it:-o. I´ve kind of compaired it to an old 60w bulb we used to have. You use cfls for vegging ? And whats that box in your 6th pic? airconditioner?

Yeath it's 5000 btu a.c. to maintain any lights i want to run I use T5 HO 24 inch 2 lamp units mounted on plywood (my work bench) I have ten two lamp units so it puts out about 15,000 lux! two 6" fans and charcoal filter on the bottom intake. oscillating fan and mylar works great for veg/seed/clones I have 6 clones off of the plants you see all in a humidity dome in the back. I have 36" height in there sooooo I am planning to build a chamber for a mother plant to vege out in thats where I may use it!! Mine has 45 2 watt leds 90 watt total it was given to me along with many hps complete units ranging froom 150watt to 400watt 2 250 watt with reflectors hoods and ballasts I will never use and plan on finding someone who will use instead of in my attic!!

Judging from what I can see in the pics, a 1000 watt hps should be more than enough light. I used to use a 400 watt hps in a 2 foot by 4 foot area. My plants averaged about an ounce an a half each. Here is a picture from near harvest.

My UFO is quite old too, definitely worth using it for veg instead of CFL's imo :) my lil 90w does 2 mums and 4 clones perfectly, and could quite easily cover a 3x3ft area (I have the 120* spread. Inter-nodal growth is really tight even up to 3 feet above the plants (don't ask me how it just is : )

That was Sugar Punch from Sannies Seeds. I wouldn't buy from them. They really left me in a bad spot with their horrid delivery record, it took them over 2 months to deliver the last time I ordered from them and then 20% of the seeds were crushed and the promised freebies were not included. I am currently growing Dinafem Critical + that I bought from The Attitude. They have a 6 week flowering time that really is 6 weeks and the smoke is good. I really did love that Sugar Punch, but you know, burn me once shame on you, burn me twice shame on me. I actually have 2 Sugar Punch seeds around here somewhere. I hid them and can't remember where :(

Yes, you definitely could supplement your 1000W HPS with a 90W UFO lamp, but I question the need. 1000W is a lot of light, and a 90W UFO, not that much. How much space have you got here that you think 1000W isn't enough light?

If you have an extra small light handy, I'd suggest using it instead for seedlings and to root clones. That way you can keep a ready supply of new plants handy for transfer to the main growing area, at minimal energy cost. You could also use it to maintain a "mother" plant in vegetative mode to take clones from.

Two 125W CFLs, would also work for side/supplemental lighting, if you wanted.

Alternatively, you could use them to setup a small separate vegetative area, again with the idea of increasing your ultimate yield. So you start the plants under the UFO, transfer them to your veg area under 250W CFL when they're maybe 6-8" tall, then keep them there until ready to flower. If you do this, every time you harvest a plant, you'll have another one immediately ready to be put into flowering to replace it.
