I want to plant 100 plants, 50 in my backyard.
I've got an idea, and was wondering if you could tell me if its safe or not?

K, I currently live in California, and I have a huge backyard. What I want to do is dig a HUGE hole about 10 feet deep in my backyard (big enough to fit 50 plants) then cover the top of that hole with chicken wire and maybe put 1 or 2 greenhouses over it.
The plants would be in the hole and at night I would cover the top of the hole (on the chicken wire) with fake grass, so at night it looks like its just grass.

It would work, but I don't know how well. When you have plants in a hole like that they miss a lot of the direct sun and only get direct light for a couple hours a day. Still it might be worth giving it a shot...

Backyards are not secure at all and greenhouses attract the worst of all predators, humans, so I hope it's concealed enough and you're enough out of the way of prying eyes to not get busted or get your plants stolen.

Fake grass can only fool the dumbest of dumb unless you somehow make it really look more real and not suspicious.

If you are going to dig an underground layer, i recommend making it a permanent place. Not a place that would be covered and uncovered all the time, that looks suspicious. If you have a shed or something over it and then the entrance to the cave is under that and no one would see you going into the cave then that would be best. Otherwise people would be like wtf why is there a greenhouse in the day and grass at night, or something of the sort. Obviously you would need some lights if you were going to do it that way, but they are not that expensive.

Well I live in the hills, and most of the backyards are 'private' then there is trees and bushes surrounding my yard.

Do you think I should leave the greenhouses out? Im just thinking if a heli flys over they would be able to see it way easier.

Some may not be responding to many of your posts any more because you pulled that stunt with the joke thread and kept it going so long nobody knows if you're serious or wasting their time.

If you're serious yes leave the greenhouses out and figure out a way to make some fake grass mostly see through but still pass most of the light. Then you can leave the fake grass on all the time and not get caught. If everything under the grass is green colored, like the walls and floors too, then you couldn't make out the plants and it'll just look normal. (as normal as a yard full of weird looking fake grass can look that is)

However you'd still be better off just making a fully underground grow that uses lights rather than the sun since you'd only be able to grow well once a year using the sun. Just keep on digging..

What would get you caught is someone would stumble upon it while you're in the middle of getting in or out or working on your plants. You'd need a stealth entrance either way.

Well I was thinking of buying one of those greenhouses that is built on to your house.
I dont know how I could have fake grass over it all the time, it would probably eliminate 25% of the sun.
So you're saying that I wont get caught if a heli goes over my house and sees it?
Im not to worried about trespassers because they would have to go through the front of the house through the gate and then to my backyard.
I might install cameras too.
Well, Im doing an indoor grow along with the outdoor.
