Can you really clone Autoflowers?

Ok, so you can clone them. but not really produce a viable plant for harvest?
You can clone them but they will flower based on genetics the same as the main plant. Meaning they will have to root and veg but will still flower in the same period as the original. You'll have significantly reduced yields from the clone.

Is there something specific you are trying to achieve?

Depends on the strain. Cloning an 'xl' early will give you better results. Be prepared to root in 5 to 7 days. The longer it takes ... The less veg time you'll get. If a plant has a longer veg time the clone will.also 'veg' you could get 1 bud or I've harvested about an ounce off each clone I took off an old school auto. Joint Dr's ogre

Well this is gonna be my first grow so I got autoflowers just to keep things simple, but just for the sake of saving money was wondering if I could clone instead of having to buy more seeds.

You could always make some seeds, either with a male auto or a reversed female auto and another female auto.

My seeds are feminized as well, and hold up lol did you just say make seeds with 2 females?? I don't know what a reversed female is. Don't tell me there is more than 2 genders for plants as well now

Yep, transgender plants lol. You can take a female plant and induce male pollen sac formation with silver thiosulfate. You can then use said pollen to pollinate a different female. The resulting offspring will be feminized seeds.

Interestingly enough, you can also induce female flower formation on male plants.

Feminized seeds are made from pollen produced by a female plant that was manipulated to produce male flowers typically through the use of chemicals. That pollen when used to pollinate a flowering female plant will produce feminized seeds. It's a pretty simple process. I do it all the time.

Here are 2 clones I took. One I sprayed with STS/silver thiosulfate and the other I left alone.

The second picture is the female I reversed. As you can see it has male flowers and is producing pollen. The seeds will be feminized seeds.

This is the clone taken from the same female mother and sprayed with STS.

For a first grow autos are not simple.
Classic noob mistake

Chill kiddo

it’s just a little reaction on the internet

Any pics of your ounce cloned autos by any chance?
Lol no worries
Man. That was many years ago. Pretty sure I had a flip phone then and was convinced the govt would see my pictures lmao.
Thems were the days....
I started running autos when joint dr started bringing them out. He was one of the first guys doing ruderalis crosses. Had a chance to meet him a few times and exchange info. He gave me a bunch of free beans when I told him I cloned his ogre. His stuff was.... Ok
Best was the chronic. Small yeild tho. I gave up on autos after that as photos were far superior and autos were wasting my time until a buddy gave me some mephisto beans... then I could see how far autos have come
I'm talking like 12 or so years ago

I have heard conflicting information, hoping to get the general consensus around here, thanks!
The thing is why??? Are you unable to control your photoperiod?
All things going well with a photoperiod plant as a home grower you end up with probs 10-25% in your buds depending on strain.
Now if you were to do autoflowers since one parents makes no THC you are basically looking at half those numbers. So 5-12% THC, some breeders claim higher, but growing from seed there's no such valid claim. Why spend all these watts time and effort to produce something that will be half strength at best. Not to mention that you can't keep mothers/clones so if you enjoyed a certain smoke too bad next seed.

For the life of me I don't know why they are so popular. I've grew a couple packs when I thought "Auto" was a strain name. Poor yield, waste of watts and time and space and money for the beans.

Poor yield? Lol. Maybe if they were grown poorly. Photos can give poor yields as well. There are many reasons people like to run autos, but there are just as many reasons not to.

Hm not sure on your math there but good autos have high thc as well.
Breeding f1s doesn't work with autos you need to get them to f3 or f4 before the strain is stable and 99.999% auto flowering. It's not as simple as just crossing x photo with y auto
lots of people think auto flowers are 'easier'. Very untrue. You have to know how to grow good weed and know the stages of a plants life well to grow good auto flowers with a high yield.
A bit of practice and good genetics and you would never know you're smoking an auto.
