Can You Harvest Too Late?

This is our first operation, and it has been going well. We were very fortunate in that we had 25 clones practically fall into our laps, consisting of "White Rhino", "Sweet Tooth", and "AK-47". Now, i'm not too sure if That's what they really are (could be made up names), but the "Sweet Tooth" shows classic Indica qualities, and the "AK-47" are defitely Sativas, while the "White Rhino" could be either, but I'm leaning more on the Indica side for those plants (We have the Grow Bible for reference).

Now, I have heard that sativas and indicas have different grow schedules, and I'm beggining to see that. We're into the sixth week of bloom, and they're looking pretty nice. The "Sweet Tooth" are nice and squatty, and denser than stone. "White Rhino" are also very dense, but are growing higher than "ST". But our "AK-47" have grown taller and more spinedly than the others, and the buds are really spaced out. I understand that sativas can take longer to grow to full bud than indicas, so my question is: How long is too long for indica plants?

I just want my "AK's" to be able to catch up with our other plants, so I was thinking a week or two more of nutrients should help alot. But our indica plants' pistils are already turning armber, and some even look almost orange, so we're thinking we might want to start flushing in the next couple days here.

But can a bud get too ripe? Does it it start too rot, or lose potency?

Or perhaps it's something else? I've also read that most sativas require less nutrients then most indicas, but we've been feeding everyone equally (GH Flora Series schedule, one per watering, every other day, in Promix(?) Organic soil). Could that be it? In which case, would flush maybe help to trigger growth more growth in our sativas? However, they don't show any other signs of nutrient lock out, or salt buildup.

Any help would be much appreciated. I'm sorry I don't have any photos, cameras on the fritz.

Y es that is true. You can leave buds on too long and will lose potency. The plants have their own genetic codes, you can't '"rush" them or make them catch up.They will all be finished as long as it's more dark hours than light. KEEP SMOKE ALIVE!!

So, what's the lesser evil then, harvesting the sativas early, when the indicas have ripened, or wait for the sativas to ripen a bit more, and harvest the indicas a little late? Our grow room will also be our drying room, so we gotta harvest them all at once.

depends, if you want an UP sativa like high, then harvest indicas early ( milky/cloudy trichomes)
harvest sativas when they have a little of both ( amber and cloudy trichomes.)

hope that helps

Cool man, thanks. I don't have a magnifying glass, so I'll have to buy one. I'll try and get some photos ASAP. I really wanna show them off.

Good idea. Hey you can play around with them, meaning you could harvest an indica early and the sativas late. KEEP SMOKE ALIVE!!

yeah man edit : if you want a couchlock body high :
harvest indicas to where the trichs are most amber
and sativas, well why get a sativa for couchlock highs? seems pointless to me, lol.
a 100x mag. glass will def. be perfect. if ive helped add to my rep in the corner of my posts please

thanks
