Can you get 3 pounds per 1000W DE Gavita?

Wouldn't the most important factor be veg time? I'm sure it's quite possible with a lot of space and training the canopy with a net.
No to the veg time, , scrog is a must for production, a 1000 watt HPS will effectively cover a 4x4 area, and a double end gavita will cover a 6x6 area, training for production is a must if you want to produce , but it does not take much time for most gardens

I'm still not convinced veg time is the most important factor. The scrog does need to be full.

Nice plants though obviously, my compliments
Veg time is a huge factor, timing on it is everything, it's not a long veg time for indoors , most think you want a long veg time but the exact opposite is true I doors, you want you plants hollow dtemed and soft, if allowed to veg to long the roots become bound, the plant can sense how much root space it has to expand, if it has no root space to expand you will not get the explosive growth and bud development you are trying to achieve, if the plants cell structure is to hard it will not uptake nutrients and water at the rate we want ,
Another misconception is you want to fill the canopy in, that is not at all what you should be trying to achieve with a scrog /net, more accurate to refer to it as a trellis net, it should not be used to fill in the canopy , but it should be used to spread the canopy apart to allow for good light and air penatration into the canopy ,
It's like everyone on here is playing checkers and they should be playing three dimensional chess,
Another common misconception is the plant should be trained and developed in vegetative phase, this is only partially true , the main terminal stems are developed in the vegetative phase , the plants energy and sculpting of the plant happens as it shoots it's energy into bud development ,
The objective is to keep that energy redirected into bud development,

most people are playing checkers when they should be playing 3dimensional chess.
Very true . It’s the only way to get the big yields .

I feel I need to clarify on veg time,
Many think you want a long veg time to get large buds, for outdoors this is true so long as you have room for the roots to expand , indoors , veg time is critical so far as them not getting root bound but still large enough to maximize production , a 1000 watt lamp can penetrate 3 ft deep into the plant , no need in growing the plant over 3,5 ft to 4 ft tall,
You should start forming your terminal stems at around 6 to 8 inch's tall and bloom at just a little around 14 inch's tall , most plants ( not all ) ( especially heavy indicas) will stretch around 200 percent in bloom the first five weeks, if they have the expansion room for the roots,
Timing is everything

Most containers at around 100 gallons will produce around 4 lbs of marijuana on average as a rule of thumb,
( Many exceptions to this rule so don't break my balls ) that is all the container size will allow the roots to uptake, the plants when they go in are vegged only for a few weeks before they enter the containers the first of May, they veg in these containers until the first of August that is when they start to bloom then finish bloom the first to end of October,
The plants stems and structure stays soft all the way until it's almost finnoshed and in its last week or so,

Interesting.

Honestly I grow in 5 gallon containers, and they get really root bound, but it doesn't seem to matter. I don't doubt for a moment I'd get better yields with bigger containersIMG_20180923_144542.jpg IMG_20180923_144527.jpg

Is foxtailing just a fact of life for 1000w lights?

Can you put them straight in the ground ?
Real bad clay here, next year I'm planning on spending the money on a proper greenhouse. Also hoping to be licensed for 2000sq foot canopy. Wind is the biggest issue I've been having, 100km/h yesterday lol. I also should have bought more stakes, I've had some of those back ones since January in those 5 gallon pots inside. Just maxigrow and maxibloom when appropriate.

Manure is so damned cheap in Ontario, I may just go the organic route next time
