I know everyone says look at the width of the leaves to get an idea if a strain is more indica or sativa dominant, but from my experience, the time it takes to ripen is a much better indicator, I think.
But basically my question - can you possibly get a hint about an unknown strains origins by looking at how fast the flowers develop in the first week to a week and a half? I've got a pure indica strain that by the beginning of week two I already see little balls of flowers at the top forming nicely. She finishes in roughly seven to eight weeks at most. I've got another strain, it takes at least nine to ten weeks before I would call it done. And by the end of week one (under the same conditions) it has just started to show pistils at the top. So is this a good indicator that it's more sativa dom? Just curious about your own experiences in this regard. In the long run it doesn't really matter obviously as long as they flower till they're ready, but maybe this is a better indicator than leaf width?
Thanks!
