Scrog is screen of green SOG is sea of green. (yeah it gets confusing)

Screen is where you bend all the tops and branches so everything is at the same level. Typically weaving through a screen.

SOG is more a boatload of smaller plants, typically in a single cola/lollypopped style.

You could SOG 12/12 from seed.
Scrog 12/12 from seed, sounds pointless.

ok cool, cause i am doing SOG 12/12 from seed and thought i would just throw a screen over it but since its not worth it.

wellllllllllllllllllll id go as far as to say it's not "pointless" so to say, just not efficient. If you feel like putting a screen over top it will help with stability down the road, aka not needing to stake and tie up big drooping nugs, the screen will keep em nice. other then that its pointless, SCROG is so great because u can coax a plant to grow huge in a little area, start 12/12 from seed and it wont have time to grow to that nice size before expecting to bud

I didn't think you could go 12/12 from seed. I thought plants needed to be mature before flowering. I also heard that it takes about 6 weeks from seed to be mature.

Well you heard wrong..you can 12/12 from seed.

OP, SOG usually works better when you have clones, and a lot of them

well im doing 9 1 gallon pots of 12/12 from seed, also at the same time im growing my mother for clones. so as soon as my mother is ready my "sog" will be clones not seed from 12/12. i moved so this is just starting up.

12/12 from seed seems a semi-waste. 12/12 from rooted clones makes more sense and a better value on the seeds and keep a perpetual grow rolling.

But some can't swing the extra space to keep a mother and clones.

do clones need tobe separate from mothers? Im trying to grasp how many areas I shuold have. I was planning on 2areas one for veg with t5s/cfls and 1 5x10 tent for flowering.

please recommend any changes or additonal space to utilize in order to have moms/clones/flowering plants in order to have a constant harvest :)

so right now i have all my seedlings/plants in veg under 24 hours of light.. should mother plants get 18/6 or ?! I am new to this and need to know so when it comes time to keep plants in veg and or make a plant a mother i can know.

you could but i think 18/6 would work better in imans opinion,,,u want the plants to fill the screen nice and neet

Thats all you need. You can veg the clones as long as you like or toss into 12/12 straight away.
