you would have to build a box to house the "outside" part. it has to be waterproofd have a drain to deal with the condensation. the air it also pretty hot coming out, so youll need to vent it sufficently to not force the a/c. and the water will have a weed smell to it so thatll have to come into consideration.

youll need an extra vent fan and air exit.
a box that will take up extra floor space.

with all the extra hassel, buy a in room a/c. or grow in a house and use a window ac. sheds arent too safe. imo

but if its all you have, and if the reward is worth the risk..

Why not just put it in the window of the shed ? If you are worried about it looking suspicous then build something around it.

Otherwise you'll have to partition off part of the shed you wish to grow in and then build the A/C into the wall and add a drain pipe somewhere. The problem is that you'll be pumping all that heat inside the shed and I'm sure it gets plenty warm in the summer already. Plus if it's just a shed you'll have to run electric to it. If you are worried about being suspicious, if someone walks by and hears an A/C running in a locked up shed, that is more suspicious than anything.

agreed, the hot air has to exhaust away from the cooled air, there should be a 15 degree difference easily. fuck the store, get a bomb ass one on craigslist, I got 6000btu for $40, used once. it would either have to have its own window or at least a ghetto exhaust system???

i have all the power i want but its a tin shed no windows. its in a safe place no one can see
You could cut out the size you need for the air conditioner in the wall of the shed. Tin isn't that hard to cut.

I guess the question we need to know is if you are even considering using an exterior wall of the shed.

If that is out of the question, then as stated before you will have to partition off and make a room inside the shed, to keep the cool air in one spot and to have something to hold the air conditioner.

Here is the important part I just thought of, are you asking if you can just put an air conditioner inside the shed, plug it in and have it work ?

If that is what you are asking then the answer is NO. The exterior coils of the AC produce heat, that is why half of it sits on the outside and the other half on the inside. It would be a constant battle becuase you'd be blowing both hot and cold air in the same space.

yes you can. you would need to build a box about the outside with a large enough air hole to vent and some ducting. i cant fid the post i read o another forums though...

you should also build a second box around the area the recirculates air and ahve it duct i fresh air. usually these are vents on the sides of the front.
you will also need a place to let water run from.

all of this needs to be vented outside. the resuculating air take from aother area of outside.

i gow in a shed.
i bought a portable ac unit and a jardin 120 to help control the enviroment.
