Can the fuzz catch a 400w lamp?

If FLIR were able to see through roofs and walls then we wouldn't have to lose so many troops in Iraq that are going door to door searching for enemys. I mean, hypothetically, if the local LEO has the technology to see through walls. Then the military has to have something 10x's better for their operations.

I think 400w HID is a good, safe bet. And you'll get a decent enough yield for you and the wife. Maybe consider chopping a small whole in the ceiling of the closet and putting a fart fan in there to keep air moving. Good luck!

Unless you are growing lowrider, top 44, or similar strains you will only have dense top buds (even though not as dense as equal amount of hps light) and he rest of the buds will be fairly wispy even from an indica dom. strain. Truthfully I would like to get a 600 watt fluro grow going one day to compare first hand to my 600 hps. I cant wait till prices come down on l.e.d.'s because a 600 watt l.e.d. setup would out yield 600 watt hps and create minimal heat, perfect for our friend here trying to go stealth. :peace:

You have my sympathies. :D

Oh dont feel sympathetic ive smoked many great strains, I guarantee you take me to Amsterdam to any shop pass me a joint of anything I hit it once, I pass, I will not be on my ass. You either smoke like once a month, or marijuana effects you a great deal more than I.:peace:

In 2001 in US vs. Kyllo the Supreme Court ruled that a FLIR scan of a residence was a search under the 4th Amendment, and police need to obtain a search warrant prior to conducting a scan. So, If police are using FLIR to scan your house, they have already begun their investigation, and a judge has already found probable cause to issue a search warrant. However, the judge may limit the warrant to a FLIR scan, then the police would use the FLIR scan to try to get a search and siezure warrant. So FLIR is still a threat to growers, but if you're being scanned, your security is already blown. Here is a link to an analysis of US vs Kyllo, written last year by a DA.

It is likely that some judges will consider a FLIR scan to be less invasive than actually entering a home, and so be more easily sway be the evidence police present when seeking a warrant.
