:joint:Ok.. so i live in the desert.. extreme hot heat like new mexico, and very very very dry during the summer. I have a plant thats about 5 ft and budding, i'm glad with its success so far as it is my first grow. Anyways.. could I plant some seeds I got right now, or well.. in like a week and they be ok? my main question is would they autoflower themselves early, like before christmas when there really small and i get shitty yield.. or would they continue into next year and finish around march-april or something. If this wouldn't work then could I plant seeds when my main plant is done (I assume late october, or early december) I'm not really worried about the cold weather as I like to learn new things and experiment :) thx in advance

You live closer to the equator than many of us, and might be able to get away with planting seeds now.... When do you tend to get a frost?

Desert nights get pretty cold pretty quick (because of less moisture to hold the heat) but I would think that you would get a nice late harvest, or at least have a chance to see how long the plants can last into the "winter."

On a side note- Serapis, I noticed on another thread you are from the south. Is that the hot and dry south or the hot and wet south. Next year I am going to do an outdoor grow in a hot and humid place that rains almost daily. I was just hoping to see what strains you might have worked with or heard about in that environment.

Hot and humid part of the south. I grow indoors, but am thinking of tackling outdoors next spring to add to my harvest. We can get some either wet and sticky summers or dry summers. It is best to be prepared. Keep some fungicide on hand and you should be OK. If you can, pot grow, in case of hurricanes you can relocate. I'm going to dig holes in ground and set pots in holes, plants retain water better and stay a bit cooler. This summer was extremely dry. We get LOTS of sun, which i know they'll love.

Good luck.

Hot and humid here too, I've got a few LSDs outside and they love it, I just get the feeling with the shorter spaces between the nodes it will just invite mold at the new spot- about 200 miles south (much closer to the coast) and it rains at least 4 days out of the week down there. Now that I am typing this, I guess a strain from hawaii would work best, but I still have plenty of time to burn through the books and find something that works. Stay cool!

there is a post from a chick that lives in hawaii and her buds developed rot. Fungicide 3 will be your friend.

Stay dry! :)

you can plant now but it will go straight into flowering if i were you i would plant as many plants as you can and you will get a bunch of little buds in about 10 weeks. the plants will stay small no more than 8 inches and you will just get one bud about 3 to 5 grams a peice
