and as far as the top being lower than the bend, thats NOT a rule, but when you supercrop each banch bend so the top IS lower than the bend at first, usuall within hours it will rise back up, once the tops are pointed back at the lght again, then i tie them down t about tht point and then the plant is trainable the entire grow, making it manageable if it needs to be moved, remember, sweet maryjane is a very resiliant plant but needs to be treated with the utmost respect!!!!!!!!
Thanks hydrocropper, good to know that it needs to be lower than the bend, a siphon mechanism. Ok so I did top one of my plants last year and it grew 2 tops, it actually did grow very strong, it was much thicker than my other plants, not sure if this is coincedence or not. I was under the impression that you could do this to any stem and it would create the same result, I'm pretty sure it does bc I've seen a lot of pics and info about this. If you know different please share your experience and opinions.

I use string to hold the branches down and shape the plant.

Initially I top the plant, then take the V shaped main stem down, until it reaches the edge of the pot, then start using string to curl the branch round the pot, so that from the top it now resembles the letter S. Once it has reached this point I stick the plant into 12/12 and all the bud sites stretch away from the S shape, leading to plenty of light and air around each bud site whilst also keeping the plant lower and a more even canopy.

Resilient most of the time, unless you do something to piss her off.. then she'll go into fickle psychobitch mode and you won't like the troubleshooting required then... hahaha

Is why I try to help troubleshoot the plants of others on RIU, I understand the headache involved.. and it gives me plenty of practice should shit hit the proverbial fan. :D
