it will depend on where you are growing and the ambient temps around the tent. i've seen guys ahve to use a portable a/c with a 400w light and guys who could run a 600w light in a sealed tent with no ventilation or a/c. just depends.
if you are growing in a house with an average temp somewhere in the 65-80 range i thing you can get away with a simple negative pressure system. just get an inline fan, hood, and small carbon filter. hook the carbon filter up to one side of the hood (might need a small piece of ducting). then hook the fan up to the other side of the hood so that it pulls air through the filter and the hood. connect the fan to the hood using ducting and place the fan as close as you can to the exhaust port on the tent. buy a piggyback thermostate fan controller and plug your fan into that. hang the probe on the canopy of your plants. the fan will kick on when temps reach a certain level. this will pull air through the filter taking out any smell and then exhausting it into your exterior room. this creates negative pressure in your tent and it will pull fresh air in through zipper seems. you may need to leave a small port open for quicker intake.
you'll have to run it for a day or so with no plants to get it dialed in. those thermostat fan controllers usually need to be set lower than your desired temp. also, if you need to leave a port open for intake be careful of light leaks. get a hi/low digital thermostat from your hydro store too. that way you will be able to monitor the high and low temps in the room if you are not around. if your tent is in a small space like a closet then this method won't work cause you will heat up the air in the closet and then when you pull it back in through the ports and seems then it will be too warm. in cases like that look for somewhere nearby to exhaust that hot air out of the space. ceilings or windows are some ideas. good luck.
