Can mixed spectrum speed up flowering?

I’m a believer in mixed spectrums, and currently have four ladies flowering under one horizontal 630w CMH fixture containing a 315w 4200K Eye Hortilux bulb and (obviously a ) 315w 3100K Phillips bulb, plus a vertical-hanging 400w Eye Hortilux enhanced-spectrum HPS which is in the center of my girls (directly below the CMH reflector). Growing in FF OF with FF trio, AN BigBud, occasional epsom salts and Blumats, in a 5x5.

Question: Is it possible this mixed spectrum is causing my plants to mature too fast? I’m at the end of week 3 and they are packing on weight, and now all four are starting to show red/darker pistils....this is four dis-similar strains, Choc. Mint OG, 1024, Blue Cindy and an SLH.

Last run, under CMH the SLH and 1024 both got to week 9 and 10 respectively, now its looking like week 6 or 7 if I’m lucky....no difference in setup other than the HPS addition. Why would the HPS speed up maturation like that? Or is it the vertical + horizontal combo? Thanks.

Theres like a ton of threads with new growers wondering why there plants are finishing early but zero threads from good growers with plants that did the same.

Id assume the same.

At some point mixed spectrum is great but it falls down at the point that we still dont know which mix is the most productive, somthing led users have been fucking up with for years but would now have you believe they have the right mix (bullshit) :-)

I noticed some strains finished almost a week earlier with a phillips 315 3100k cmh added to the room than with 600w hortilux super hps alone.

Also some early brown pistols but did not effect final outcome. Except for learning that the hype of a 315 equaling a 600 is not true after testing.

Lol that you even had to run a test to work out that 315 hype :-)

Whats going on with you anymore?

I ran side by sides because i was curious and it was already hanging there. Its main limitation is its coverage area when used alone. Could use some overlap like 400’s.

Combined with hps it is an improvement in leaf health, more compact plants and some strains finish sooner. Also better light to see the plants. It would make a great 4x4 veg light. It was even more powerful than a 400w hortilux blue.

As it gets colder out i will add back the 315. I get 3 more bushes in rotation that way.

Im on a site where your telling me cmh knocks a week of strain time, if you dont use a certain humidity for drying your bud will crumble into dust, leds yeild 25-50% more watt for watt and need extra calmag, dont dry bud just jar it wet and burp, acting like teas are some holy grail of organics, adding microbes to soil that already has them and a whole host of stuff that use to be considered dumbass but a new grow generation has resurfaced and is now defining their ego here with it....

Im not that nigga and will do better for blocking all that shite so i can get back to real growing and not some super firedrop og special reserved 200 bucks a seed led organic bullshite super three day cured bs your forcefeeding newbies here.

Most of ya i can remember when you started, it was a bad time for hype so i dint blame you just i dont have the time to constantly present what use to be here before all these wild claims.

And a point with all this hype... by now my strains should be using half the wattage, finishing two weeks early and be able to tell chem from organic. Guess what aint fuckall changed but i keep hearing your hype :-)

I ask again. Whats wrong with you anymore? This site has always been this way. Some good info mixed in with a lot of bad. I ignored it for a couple years while i learned to grow.

I dont grow the flavor of the month or buy into any bro science and you have seen my results.

When I ran known cuttings side by side under the cmh amd hps the cmh plant finished shorter and a little sooner. They were hungrier too. And stayed healthier.

Also about 30% less yield. But at almost 50% less watts.

Full spectrum allows the plant to use more wavelengths for processes. The phillips bulbs are fully tested for plant growth at the university of utah. It is their choice for best stand alone plant growth light source.

You must know i dont get my information solely from this forum.

Really. Whats your problem? Your info is lacking and i still havent seen any of your plants growing in almost 3 years here.

Just sounds like the same claims leds made except add 'shorter' and 'knocks a week of strain time' to the list.

God i feel so sorry for you growers, you aint growing weed your looking for the next best thing or to look good like its your time and this is your place.

Face palm :-(

Sounds like to you. You are mired with fear of change. Some of these things are true. You are no expert. You still havent shown your superior grown plants.

Slightly shorter flowering is true for some grows.

Its no claim. It is reported quite comonly and It has been shown on the 315 lec thread here by more than a few growers and others i have met in other forums.

I'm starting to feel sorry for you man. All this new tech and info available and you're not benefiting.

And different light spectrums have been shown to affect certain processes clearly in mono colored diode testing in the ag department of the university of michigan.

Like blue light keeps plants more compact and spurs leafy growth. Like why we have used mh in veg for many years.

You dont have to fear learnin’ ya know.
