A bipartisan group of Pennsylvania lawmakers think so

"

Marijuana legalization may hit partisan stumbling blocks in Harrisburg, but lawmakers in both parties have united around a new drug policy — letting Pennsylvania researchers look into how to use magic mushrooms to address mental health issues.

In a rare show of cross-party support, it is sponsored by 10 Republicans and 10 Democrats have thrown their support behind the proposal sponsored by Rep. Tracy Pennycuick, R-Montgomery.
And advocates and lawmakers say that if all goes well, it could reduce the stigma around mental health treatment and psychedelics while helping veterans and cutting care costs.
The bill would authorize university studies of how psilocybin — the active ingredient in some mushrooms that causes psychedelic trips — could treat depression, anxiety, suicidal ideation, post-traumatic stress disorder, bipolar disorder, and other mental conditions."

First came Weed, now Mushrooms?

I'm English, a few months back there was a documentary about shrooms treating depression (bbc I think)

Been a long time since I was into shrooms but I thought I'd watch it.
What they did was give people a guided trip under observation and in a dark room with tranquil music.

The result was it cured them off depression, though not permanently.
All subjects reported a new outlook on life, a refreshed interest in everything around them and it removed the problem of looking internally constantly. It acted as a master reset switch.

Some of the subjects had been suffering from severe depression and anxiety for decades.

They found that it acted better and quicker than typical antidepressants.
Unfortunately it didn't last forever and 3 to 6 month seemed to be the average. This was from one trip.
I think a few may have experienced long term benefit.
It allowed them to make changes to their lives and get back to living life instead of worrying about it.

Now we've just had an announcement in Parliament that they will be changing the law to allow for further research.

Be interesting to see what happens. Anything that can help with mental illness has to be looked at thoroughly.

Responsible and safe Psychedelic use was the most importantly aspect to my recovery from addiction. Opioids mainly.

the most basic truth behind the experience is that there is no room to “lie” or trick oneself anymore. The ego, or trickster is I look at it, completely goes away for a period of time.

if truth is the only thing you csn See then all our bullshit games start to disappear. Responsibility for our shitshow,….or heaven on earth life is 100% dependent on our choices and actions. Either way we lay the bricks.

that’s what these drugs have taught me at least.

and after a few years of heavy use I haven’t had the need to revisit those planes of consciousness. It’s kinda like I’m always tapped in and can access the truth remotely now without the help of any substance.

Legislators do not give a shit if it helps with any problem. How they can profit from it is all they think about. And they probably could help some people. But the thing that would help is a society that gives a shit about being human, and a government that provides for people instead of feeding off them economically.
Psychedelics help with mental problems because the cause of them is societal ideologies not reflecting reality. Psychedelics bring you away from pretending to be a person in a society and put you back into reality. You're an animal flying through space and none of this experience makes sense. So we might as well throw off these non working ideas and revel in being alive. Nothing like not giving a shit to ease anxiety.

Best thing is eat real food and stay away from cell towers and other radiation/harmful unnatural garbage I.e tap water and the medications they give you for mental illness. ( trying to cover symptoms (actually make them worse), not fix anything)

and don’t believe anything you see on tv but that should be obvious. All of it should be obvious really

Been studying this for my ptsd and anxiety. Aside from spore inoculation and learning to grow myself I'm lost. No herbalist around here. Micro dose seems very appealing.
I have been looking into that too, for a few years, and earlier this year i decided to try.
Having same issues as you (anxiety, ptsd and adhd).
My doctor used me as a ginnypig and poured meds into me, benzo´s,antidepressants & ritalin.
After some years feeling like a ghost in the world, i decided that i would rather be as i were before meds, than totally melted in my brain and bones.

Then i watched a local tv show about hallucinogens and mental illness, where they used silocybe semilanceata in microdosing te help the patients.
So i went out and picked a bunch when they arrived in nature, and started MD´ing.
Dropped the antidepressants and ritalin first, which ofc resulted in sleepless/restless days/nights, so i got me a load of an nasty Kush to help fight those issues.
After some weeks i felt okay´ish and dropped the benzo´s and what a freaking nightmare that was. WORST medication ever, to perscribe to a person for over 3 years in a row. Withdrawal syndrome was intense, so i started microdosing the shrooms a week after i had stopped with the meds.
0.1 gr every 4 days, until i felt a bettering ( 3 times/12 days).

Now i am all for nature medicine.
Went from 50x10mg valium + 50x10mg Nitrazepam and 30 x 40 mg ritalin pr. month,
to 3-4 x 100mg THC (J´s or oil), 2-3 x 20mg CBD oil pr.day
and 1-2x 0.1gr shrooms pr. month
The 400/60 thc/cbd took me a while to find the "blend", but this helped my anxiety and adhd get to controllable levels and am convinced the shrooms lowered my ptsd to a level of me being able to participate more in life.

I am not saying this is the way forward for you, but i do think its worth looking into.

Stay strong and keep fighting dude.

I read they did a study on terminally ill patients and found that that using them took away their fears of dying. That should be enough. Not to mention its the only substance you cant get addicted to. You do them too often and they just stop working completely. We need to legalize all drugs. meth, cocaine all of it. Its a tough world and everyone needs a different fix. As long as youre not hurting anybody theres not a problem as far as im concerned

We can give a lot of opinion if it works or not. Just a suggestion, go to john hopkins hospital site. They have been researching and performing trials for many years with shrooms and cognitive therapy (3 doses during program). The key is to do both. They have good results with quit smoking, ptsd, depression, anxiety and mental illness.

I just micro dosed twice last month and it did assist with negative thought patterns (albeit not in a clinic). It does awaken many unresolved issues.

Is that a tenth of a gram to 2 tenths a month?

I live in Oregon and it’s legal to treat my combat ptsd with Ketamine infusions. The Veterans Affairs had me on a garbage bag of pills. Prazosin, clonidine, lunesta, Ritalin and gabapentin. Was on SSSRIs in the past as well. I’m off all of them now. all of them. Interestingly, I’ve been micro dosing as a supplement and the adhd symptoms are much better too. My body feels much ‘cleaner’, I don’t sweat nearly as much. I still have nightmares every now and then. Im used to them. But I can socialize, go riding with friends, I can even go grocery shopping for my wife!! No joke. The VA did teach me cognitive processing therapy, mindfulness and In vivo. I thank them for that. But they can keep their pharmaceutical garbage, Im good
