can i use this in place of black cat molasses?

Im having trouble purchasing black cat molasses that is talked about alot.
can i use black treacle/syrup?

As mentioned above, treacle is a by product of sugar refining. During the refining process, raw sugar cane is first crushed then boiled in stages until it has thickened sufficiently to facilitate the growing of sugar crystals which will eventually become refined sugar. There are two main types of treacle:-

Treacle should be fine, though it's not quite as dark as molasses. Still plenty good for your plants.

Thanks there are 2 types of treacle, light and dark,
light treacle better known as Golden Syrup (equivalent = Light Molasses), is made from the syrup obtained during the first boiling of the sugar cane/beets. About 65% sucrose, it is the lightest in colour and the sweetest of all the treacles and is usually unsulphered.

<SPAN style="mso-ansi-language: EN-GB">Black Treacle, (equivalent = dark molasses) is made from the syrup obtained from later boilings and is about 55% sucrose.

What dose should i start off with? and how often is the max this can be added?

I'm assuming you're growing in soil, in which case you would use it every other watering. The dosage is 15ml per 3.785 liters(1 US gallon). You can use it throughout the entire flowering phase.

Alan666, you must be in the UK. I say that because you guys call it "treacle" and we call it "molasses". As for as I know it's the same stuff!

Bye the way, it's not Black Cat Molasses (like a brand name) - it's Black Strap Molasses (like a variety or particular type of molasses). I have no idea how they got the name "Black Strap" or what it signifies, other than the same as with your treacle, "the darker the better" for use with plants.

Thanks for that buddy, yes uk, i got some today, black treacle lol and its jet black, i added 15ml to a gallon and it turned the whole gallon of water black ,would you apply this inbetween feeds?

I wouldnt apply in between feeds, just apply it every other watering, i use 3 tablespoons per gallon.

Wow! Maybe Treacle is a bit more condensed. Molasses just turns the water a little cloudy.

It is my understanding that the molasses (or Treacle) does more for the micro-organisms in the soil, than it actually does for the plant itself, directly. So I give it a diluted "dose" with just about every watering (feeding, or not). That may not be the recommended way to apply it, but it doesn't seem to hurt either.
