Can i use a 6 inch duct booster on a carbon filter?

Im curently in 1st week in veg and can smell it pretty bad, can i just use a 6 in duct booster in conjunction with a carbon filter, i believe the cf is a smaller model than the typical carbon filters.
And can i place drying scent sheets somewhere between the cf and exit point?
I know id have to replace way too ofter just thought id see if anyone does that?

LOL, wait till bloom......How much is the filter rated to? Use a fan that delivers that! I can say that the fan you have, does not.

The CF you have is getting old eh? Used before?

You can wash/recharge that carbon. If that filter can be taken apart....

You need to put it in an autoclave to recharge it, it needs a tremendous amount of heat to recharge. Have you actually tried to recharge it?

Recharge carbon??
Couldent you just buy some new carbon, take apart the metal housing if possible depending on brand of cf, and replace, ive read ppl do it on other thread, ive never done it.

Id have to check amazon, but its a simple 6 inch duct boooster, deff not optimal, but i swear it has completley masked my curent smell! Im not sure how long my motor will last on the booster but i saw some og do something simillar, and just giving it a try if not ill get a inline in there

Yeah its old as fuck!
I bought used and used it for 1 grow.
I washed the filter, with warm water and some laundry deterg... As far as replacing it i deff will either get new carbon or replace cf

Yes I do it every 3 months :). I bought a shit load on amazon last year for $3.50 a bag. It's aquarium stuff but works.

Since a booster fan will have a lower cfm rating than the filter you should be fine. The air moving through the carbon needs a minimum "linger time". It doesn't matter if the air spends more time in the filter. It may even make it more effective as long as it's still moving enough air for your space. It could even be a good way to squeeze out just a little more life from an already used filter.

^^^^^ it should work well if it's strong enough to put room in negative and ventilate properly, and yes possibly more effective :).

Well my pand film, gets pretty puffy when all fans/extractors are on, so im not sure if i got negitive pressure running optimum...
I just know i have a booster fan eztracting through my 600 mh cool tube, and a inline connected to my cf in my flower room, and ac pushing into these rms,
Be honest how getto is this?

Looks fine but if you can reroute your ducting so it comes out closer to the window you'll get better airflow from the shorter duct run and fewer bends.

Ok thanks mate!
Thats a good idea, but i use the bigger ac too cool my living rm, so i figured it would be best to have as little open windows as possible, to maximize air leaks, but this is a trailler.. A trailer from 1963..being that the window is in direct view of my livin rm i opted just placing a 8k ontop of my 10k ac, otherwise id have to getto rig the living rm ac through duct... I cant help but see this place with duct already so what another 15 ft of duct huh? Lol

How do you recharge the carbon?
Take apart the filter. Use deionized water and an organic biodegradable scentless soap to wash the carbon In a pan it'll fit in. Swish the carbon around and let it set 10 min. Swish for 3 min. - then rest for 10, swish for 3 and drain. Then rinse well with clean deionized - 3 times (changing the deionized each time), same way as washing....Some have told me they have done this AND boiled it at the same time....They say it works better! (Not tried that)....

Now dry the carbon in your oven at a high temp like 450+ F for 2 hrs or till 0 moisture content is reached. A well known drug company in my area wash's their lab [carbon] filters this way. This makes the carbon last a lot more then the 3-4 recharges simple heat cleaning does.

You can clean by heat. The idea behind that is that your evaporating/incinerating the foreign particles trapped by the carbon. This idea that it take's intense heat and longer times. Is kinda Bull Shit! Yeah, hotter the better but the thing is. I want to know what the flash point of that carbon is (752 F or 400 C). You have to remember that this carbon is most likely made from burning something (Coco fiber is one source). This means it will burn. Grilling anybody?

The action of heat on activated charcoal, even when not "washed" first. Will reduce the accumulated particales by evap and "cooking" them off.... Might not get it back to 100% but pretty close and it can be done repeatedly. Oven at 300F for an hr or (I would go 400 - 450 and 2 hrs - 500 F if your oven will do it). This way you can reuse like 4 times - or till it doesn't really work any more...

All you have to do to "clean and reactivate" a military "activated charcoal" anti chem suit is to throw it in the dryer at high heat for a full 1 hr cycle. Ok the AC is smaller but it's still the same principle...

So put away your autoclaves as they can not reach good temps for removing the organic compounds trapped in the AC. Even the pressurised steam at that temp will not be as effective as simply baking it! The steam will have organic contaminates in it too. Any metals leeched from the unit and of course the contents of the water it's self.....Might try deionized but, the temps are still too low....To remove any metals present in AC. You now have to do a weak hydrochloric acid wash (3%) - bad for the AC too.... and then do the others....

Skip the autoclave. "Intense heat" is not necessary.... Try what I gave you......You'll find it works just fine!
