Hi, I just noticed The box that connects to my ballast says" use only for 1000 watt light", and right now i have a 450watt bulb in it. Is that bad? I do have a ballast that says "max watt output 420watt" ..... I just want to know if it is going to matter if i switch or not.

your making the bulb glow much brighter than it was intended for, your color rendering will be awful and you will not be anywhere near the color temperature your supposed to be, keep it up and the bulb will most likely pop

yep, your bulb will blow and maybe even start a fire if you are not careful.. get the right bulb and save your house!

Likely why it says "ONLY 1000", I know theres now such thing as a stupid question....It would say "1000w MAX" if different bulbs were OK. At least you asked.
