Can i use 600 watts for vegetation

ok so i only have 600 watt lights and ,i now i shouldn't really use them for vegetation , but haven't got any other lights so are my few days old plants will survive 600 watt hps ,will they be ok ??

It depends....If you have an air cooled hood you can go 12-18" away but if you dont have an air colled hood it will get hot and heat will be more of an issue.... You want to get as close as possible without burning the tops (heat) or bleachin/leaching the leaves ( light too close)

i will have 2 air fans in the wardrobe and ventilation tube connected to the fan so babies will have fresh air 24/7 so i guess so hopefully wont get hot ... all prepared lol first time indoors

i used my 600 for veg 24/0 for 4 weeks then flowering 12/12 for 8 weeks worked well yeah def about a meter away if its to hot on the back of your hand its to hot for your girls

should they be turned on 24 hrs ?????????????????? :O

will it make a big difference because i will only have them for 16 hrs and 8 off for night already had police heli above my windows so cant have them on when sleeping heh

yes I too have also vegged with 600. But i used a MH bulb,..... HPS will cause a little stretching when used for veggin though. And just like ghost said, put the back of your hand under the light, at the same height as the tops of the plants,.....if it feels uncomfortable, it is too close/hot.

Dominik dont worry about police helicopter its not going see a 600w light in your house , worry about who you tell and your neighbours hearing/smelling things
