Can I start vegetables seeds now for for april

Can I start vegetable & herb seeds now in February for transplanting outdoors in april ?

what vegetables should I be planting in spring and for summer in Los Angeles ?

ive done some reading, from what I’ve gotten from it is tht cool weather loving crops should be planted in the beginning of spring and heat loving ones towards the end of spring?

but spring in Los Angeles gets pretty hot like in the summer not tht much difference in my opinion ,

or does it really matter in my area ( Los Angeles) I would just plant heat loving plants at the start of spring as well .. but just not for cool crops as summer heat is coming in?

Basically my questions are :

can I start all my vegetables and herbs in the beginning of February to transplant in April?

what type of vegetables should I be transplanting in April/spring?
and later for may-June/summer

is it to late for cool crops in April ?

I was thinking ..
would it be better like this for planning ..

febuary-end of April cool loving crops
End of april—June

and set my transplants at the beginning of those months?

Google is your friend.. look up what zone is my location in..then when to start (insert vegetable you're wanting to grow) in my zone. Ez pz

i start my tomatoes around this time so they can be ready for their final pots in late march to mid april and that way i eat fresh organic tomatoes from june to late december (if lucky)

Yeah thts what I was hoping to hear lol
I myself would like to start my vegetables and herbs in February and transplant them out in April to mid april..

im thinking tht I should be starting cool loving crops earlier and stop planting them when the summer heat starts coming in and wait till the end of summer ..

I just don’t like the planting dates method cause if you go buy it ,you’d probably be starting seeds at different times and I’d like lo get them all out and planted into the garden at the same time but thts just my opinion

You should probably stagger everything for a continious harvest. You live in LA so "spring" is just your winter compared to most spots. I think you should lean heavy on the heat loving plants if you are starting now.

or else your going to plant a bunch of cold loving plants and they will just bolt on you because of the heat.

Start Peppers and Herbs onions leeks etc for 8 weeks, Tomatoes only need 4 weeks.Seed direct to soil Radishes Turnip kale spinach lettuce etc.

I'm late to this show, but. . . .

I'm in nw florida, so I also have very little spring. Cooler crops like green beans have to be planted as soon as it's frost free because they stop bearing when it gets too hot. Okra likes hot weather, so wait until the nights are not as cold to plant that. Lots of times my March planted okra doesn't get any bigger than that planted in April.

But sweet corn can be planted now. Also your squashes and cukes. I planted Armenian cukes, acorn, spaghettis and butternut squash this past week.

I've been experimenting with growing tomatoes in one of my tents. I started a heirloom classic beefsteak plant and have been cycling through clones of it for a few months now. I would take a cutting, then chop the plant I took it from to keep it under control in the tent. I wish I would have kept track of when I started it, and when I took the clones along the way. But it started making blossom in January and I've harvested several tomatoes from it now.
