Can i reuse soil from a previous crop (organic grow) ?

Hello,

I would like reuse the soil from a previous crop.
I mean, remove the central roots from the pot and directly replant a plant in it.
And add amendments on the top of the pot with cali guano + organic charcoal + fish hydrolyzate + kelp. (btw i'll do another one at the beginning of the flo)

Does it work ? or it's a bad idea ?

It can definitely be done and many growers do different versions of this. Check out the organics and living soils sub-threads to get some ideas. I like to mix 50/50 with old mix and new. Probably the only caveat is if there were issues in the last grow and even then there are options for eventual re-use

Lots of us do. Check out ROLS or no-till.
Prob not a good idea in soil? Wouldn't you have to flush out all the flower nutes before you put a veg plant in there eh?.. IDK, I've never done it, but I know you're an organic grower. All my soil goes to the compost pile to do a Summer outdoor/personal grow, and they're ready to flower by the time I set them out there, but it's already got flower nutes in it. What say you Panty Sniffer?

The thing with organics is most of the stuff in the veg amendments is also in the flower amendments, just in different quantities and cannabis being such a heavy feeder, if you’re doing it in containers your medias gonna be pretty depleted by the end.
I get that, and as I said, im not in organics. But my soil is started out in GH trio.. which is heavy on the Micro, Gro and little Bloom... by the time I get to the end, Im heavy in Bloom, and very little Micro, or Grow..... and I don't flush.

I've been using the same soil for 3 1/2+ years now. I've never tested my soil. I just guess what it wants. But Lenin said it pretty good. We always want the veg nutes in there, but during flower just want to add more P and K. We're not using salt based stuff though, so usually there's no reason to flush anything.

It is kinda interesting that I can set my retired moms out there in the compost pile, and they thrive!.. I don't add anything else to them for the whole Summer/Falll but straight well water. That was one of the plants that I made the cane for @medicaloutlaw .. made a tree trunk!... we're still smoking on it.

I thought container volume played a huge role in the efficacy "soil recycling." That's to say, it would work better in a 15 gallon vs a 5 gallon. Is that correct?

Prob my fault. I told him where to find the book. But, back on track.. i've thought about reusing my soil, but after I take it to the compost pile and till it in, im a little leary (not Dennis) of bringing it back into my grow room.
Ya, don't bring it back inside after it was outside unless you're feeling brave. No way in hell would I bring in outdoor shit into your grow area.

ok i'll try.

Another question , sould i let cook my amedement mix with a bit of ligtmix before i'll add it to te top layer of the pot ?

I like doing a mini cook with some stuff when I'm gonna top dress with it. Some stuff gets hot, Hence the term cook.

It's also more quickly available that way.
