Can I pull roots lose

Hi I am in desperate need of some advice as I am transplanting from 2 gallon to 5 gallons but they look root bound . Can I pull some of the bottom roots loose and loosen the medium so they grow into these bigger pots I am due to flower asap I am 5 week into veg !

Id wiggle loose what ya can gently then plant in new home

you can cut that whole bottom wad off
