Can I keep my net pot like this?

There's a little space between my reservoir and net pot is that ok as long as it's dark? I'll post a pic and show you what I mean. The water level can still reach the bottom of the net pot so it's ok right? That space is usually dark im just shining a light on it in the pic

The water has to be in contact with the roots. If the roots are touching the water then you're golden.

What's the res temo? more light can drive that up and result in algae and other growths

Light proof it. Maybe add a ploy skirt.

I'm sorry op, I should have read it instead of looking at the pic. I put my water level a 6" below the net.

I haven't tested the res temp yet but the res is outside of my grow box so no light gets to it. I'm venting the air out of the grow box too so it stays cool, and so does the room the res is in. I'll measure it once I get the seeds in the mail. I got some hydroguard too just in case.
